When you consider a lot of the individuals and companies involved in 'robbing us blind', it was one disreputable and often dishonest bastard after another. Even the bloody NOMAD was at it !

 

If they don't start treating those caught at it like common criminals, they'll have very little reason not to stop.

The problem with fraud and other financial crimes is proving guilt.  Someone can look as guilty as Hell and everyone knows exactly what they've been up to (ie no good) but proving it in a court of law is another matter entirely.

To a degree, I think they were used and abused aswell.

 

That's not a plea for mitigation or that I think their intentions were at all honourable.
