The support have been incredible numbers-wise.  I'm not sure something McCoist said 6 years ago is still causing sell outs though but it does give the opposition something to laugh about when 1,500 of them outsing 48,000 of us and the Subway Loyal bolt on 80 mins.

That has NOTHING to do with what McCoist said... and EVERYTHING to do with those who would rather beat the crowd than see out the game supporting their team.

Which is exactly why statements like, "We don't do walking away.", come back and bite us on the arse.

No, the statement hasn't come back to bite us on the arse.  McCoist at that time made a statement which was very much needed at the Club.  It was a rallying call and it worked.

If people could "follow follow" instead of heading for the subway then there would be nothing to bite.  If you consider that it has come back to bite us on the arse then it is thoroughly deserved, because it is the fans who have decided getting home quickly is preferable to watching the final moments of the game.

I can't stand people leaving early.

But we'll hear it every time a manager quits too.  Or a board member.

Then so be it.

The statement at the time bore much more importance than any ribbing from opposing fans
