Sportscene spat the most venom

Very well summed up. I was quite shocked how for our first goal they didn’t say one good thing about us, they just talked about Aberdeen’s defending as if it was a Red TV post mortem. The second goal was rightly lauded in the live half time report on the radio as absolutely brilliant but sportscene spent about 5 seconds on it and again they focused more on poor defending because Morelos was given space. I genuinely couldn’t believe how little time they spent on that goal. And they didn’t show or mention Defoe’s goal in the analysis, again shocking. They put all their effort into setting up the narrative for the rest of the week.

We’ve already been over this @Bill, the BBC is taxpayer funded and so there is a purpose in scrutinising their coverage of our club to an extent to expose what they are doing and have a record of it. @26th of foot does a very good job.

We've already been over this.

It is not taxpayer funded.

The tiring aspect of this is that the same advice/questions/answers of not to listen, why listen comes up every week or so.

This thread has answered the questions.

No need for the same people to continually make the same points.

Quick word on last night's Sportsound.

Out and about edition up in the Highlands with guests from ICT and Ross County, presumably focusing on the up and coming Cup-tie.

Format is questions from the audience that have already been submitted, collected by the programme, selected and put in order by the programme and guess what the first one is..........

"What's the panels thoughts on Scottish refereeing as a whole seeing as today the lovely Glasgow Rangers (dripping with sarcasm) have decided to appeal Mr.Morelos' red card which for all and sundry looked, certainly to me looked a red card but I don't know how the rest of them feel (panel). Does doing something like that when it is clearly a stick-on make a mockery of Scottish refereeing as a whole "

I heard a fair bit of that programme too. That annoying question aside I quite enjoyed it, the Ross County and ICT guys came across well and, at times, spoke a lot of sense particularly regarding young players. Plus every time I hear the Roos County owner McGregor speak I'm more convinced he's really a bluenose.

One thing that did come over fairly clearly was that everyone there has Morelos rightly receiving a red card. No dissenting voices on that, only McGregor saying he hadn't seen it and couldn't comment.

That’s a bit pedantic. In Britain unless you don’t watch live tv all year or watch anything made by the BBC it’s a basically a tax you have to pay.

Well he’s certainly a church-going Presbyterian. Whether he has an affinity for Rangers or not I think it’s very unlikely he would have much against us.

We've already been over this, I like this thread and have said repeatedly I always read it. Despite attempts to say otherwise, I've never once criticised 26th for creating this topic. Nor have I ever advised anyone not to enjoy his ongoing contributions. Now that we've been over this even more, perhaps it will be less attractive to try to earn ingratiating points by defending 26th against imagined criticism.

For additional clarity, and to go over it yet again, nor am I advising anyone not watch or to listen to the BBC. What I am saying is that, if you do, you shouldn't be surprised at finding it deliberately offensive towards Rangers and Rangers fans. By definition, to express outrage and indignation implies being shocked and surprised. Surely even the slowest among us should have grasped the BBC v Rangers storyline by now and that it's really a rather dull and repetitive soap opera. To any meaningful extent, I can more or less be sure who said what about who without ever tuning in and to what degree Rangers is being demonised and why. Sure, it's good to be aware it's still there as an emblem of low-grade bigotry and who's playing the leading roles but to make a conscious effort to support its audience figures and then continually be outraged by it is being quite ... slow. The posts by 26th are almost always well written and entertaining, that's why I read them. On the other hand, someone making comparisons of wartime Germany is the stuff of playgrounds and hardly rises above silly.

Anyway, I thought it was quite obvious I would be Eisenhower in this fantasy. He took a very dim view of socialism to. As for Churchill? Well as far as I'm aware, Churchill was a patriot who didn't decamp to Germany or advocate breaking up the United Kingdom. ?
