PQ CSC became a parody of themselves some time ago.  It can be amusing at times, until you remember agenda-driven creeps like Michael Stewart are receiving public money to vent their frustration about Rangers.

Never mind, Michael, you might get that SNP gig yet.  They're running out of losers to put up for election.

One day Chris Sutton will admit he said a lot of what he did for effect, to be controversial and get more work and money. Michael Stewart genuinely believes that he is the guy who is never wrong.  From bio-mechanics to the football rulebook, that he knows better than Dermot Gallagher who was only on the FIFA list and refereed an FA Cup Final.

A know it all who is naturally confrontational, Michael didn't fulfill his potential as a player and I don't think it's rocket science to suggest a good part of that was because teammates, coaches and managers probably got sick of those traits.

Stewart is a man who harbours a grudge, eg. against Craig Levein and it isn't a stretch to suggest he has another against Rangers and their support in general.

As a predictably controversial pundit in the low quality click-bait environment of Scottish Fitbaw Hacks & Co he has a value but that really shouldn't be a stipulation that encourages the public broadcaster to offer him a front seat.

Michael Stewart is actually one of the most disliked personalities within football and was always regarded as arrogant, obnoxious and opinionated. There are folk in the BBC who dislike him. I’ve no general issues with shock jocks which is all he has become, but when he is unable to apply a knowledge of the rules, unable to see what actually happened as opposed to what he wants to see because of a predetermined narrative and unable to talk logically and be consistent, then he is nothing more than the typical thick loudmouth in a bar who has no self awareness and that’s not the qualities of a decent shock jock and furthermore if you have a loud mouth with one point of view and who is agenda driven as he is, then counteract it and challenge whereas Macintyre and his chums are too weak/scared to challenge him.

In his defence when he talks football tactics he is quite instructive imo but those lapses are becoming rarer.

What hurts most is he never got the Rangers gig.  Hell hath no fury as a player scorned.

I think Spiers is actually correct on the 29th Dec assumption. Heard from someone far better placed than he is. No idea what stopped it or where current impasse is but interesting the vitriol from BBC has gone up a notch or two since 29th re Morelosgate and now Dallassgate. Perhaps BBC flexing their muscles is a negotiating strategy or an ‘up you’ response. Classless and clueless biased organisation clearly trying to intimidate and influence the referees, the SFA and the CO - in other words conspiring to influence the outcome of Scottish football matches.
