Pacific Quay Musings?

Recommended Posts

You know, for a couple of decades at BBC Scotland; I would have said both DrStu' and Big Dick were front runners for Chief Rangers Hater. Of course, there have been dozens of notable contributions across the organisation over the same period. The steady hateful steam constantly generated by the two mentioned see them comfortably ahead. However, Tom English has came on strong these last few years, tucking himself in behind Chris McLaughlin as the main challenger.

Well done Tom, stimulating your fellow Yahoos to force a referee into hiding. I advise you to check out the facts of Hugh Dallas twenty years past, particularly, 'Kristallnacht'.

I don’t entirely agree about Gordon. He may be A grade reptilian now but for a few years he was an excellent broadcaster. I have no problem with an Aberdeen boy supporting his local team. Brought up to hate Rangers he didn’t show it, in fact, he seemed to be a great admirer of David Murray when he was at the height of his powers.

But you can’t work in pollution without becoming contaminated yourself. “Sebo Night” was the turning point when he read out the infamous text. In fairness he did ask the programme producer for permission but the die was cast that night and his professional veneer was removed to reveal the the unacceptable face of of sneering bias.

I wonder who was the producer and who wrote the text?

Do not raise complaints at the BBC!

It is up to you Britons to chase the BBC et al from pillar to post via their regulator:

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and-on-demand

BBC regulation and Operating Framework
29 March 2017
Effective from 3 April 2017, Ofcom became the BBC's first external regulator.

+++

It is essentially a tribal affair when it comes to sports and football reporting in Scotland and unless someone starts to take a few of them to task, they will most likely ignore any other complaints and go on and on and on.

Given the one-sided report on Morelos in the BBC highlights, essentially firing the witch hunt that went on, the club should remove any privileges the BBC staff holds until further notice. And it should have a few serious words with the BBC's London HQ.

Morelos is petulant. How many bad fouls has he actually committed? We have had players hospitalised without a peep from the Beeb. Michael Stewart is the rabble rouser in chief. You have to ask why he doesn’t give attention to non Rangers Scots and the dregs of thuggery from clubs like Motherwell. Perhaps they are good ole boys?

Because they don't fit the agenda and he doesn't care. The man's a prize bell end.

Reporting Scotland.

It's Monday evening on the 7th January, 2019.

BBC Scotland have sent their Sports team to Dubai. Ra Sellik are having their winter training camp in the Gulf state. Hibs are there too. We are treated to an interview with Scotland's most expensive transferred footballer, Oliver Burke. Twice, he has been transferred for in excess of £15 million in the last two years. Oliver joins a long list of footballers who after joining the east end club, provide an immediate interview, telling of spending their childhood running around in the grey'n'green hooped jersey. It's fortunate for the English accented lad, that he does not come from Eastern Europe, South America, Central America, Asia, ........... etc; because then he would have to tell of tuning into the world service to hear live commentary on Sellik Euro games.

Another hero at PQ is of course, Neil Lennon. Hibs are winter breaking in Dubai also. Neil indulges in a bit of empathy, claiming threats are dragging the Scottish game into the gutter. Neil has been the victim of threats and it's vile. Criticism of Referees is okay, they make mistakes, but threats are crossing the line. Jane Lewis is conducting the interview, Tom, Chris, Big Dick, ..... etc have all over played their hands on Alfredo Morelos, Thus, it was Jane who informed us that John Beaton is centre of attention, receiving a police escort at Somerset Park on Saturday. Then, BBC Scotland showed those three incidents again, in slow motion. The old firm game was nine days past.

Tomorrow, Beeb Scotland will be in Columbia, interviewing members of the IRA training FARC guerrillas. They will tell the audience that even in the tropical forests, Colombians are booing Morelos. There will be another opportunity to see all three incidents again.

I'm still surprised that Celtic training in Dubai has not got their holier than thou fanbase into a frenzy. After all,  the Gulf State has a pretty pretty shocking track record with migrant labour and environmental/ecological issues. That's hardly ra sellik way is it?

Sellik are resident in the Palestinian suburb of Dubai, there'a more liberal attitude to labour relations. Of course, Nir Bitton is training in burka and yashmak, full colour photos in this week's Sellik View, printed and distributed by the Daily Record.
