Rangers striker Eduardo Herrera isn't thinking about a return to Mexico this month

Christopher Jack @Chris_Jack89 Group Senior Sports Writer

EDUARDO HERRERA insists he isn’t ready to give up on his dream of playing in Europe and leave Rangers after just half a season at Ibrox.

The Mexican moved to Glasgow alongside compatriot Carlos Pena in the summer but has struggled to make an impact in Light Blue.

Pena was this week reunited with former boss Pedro Caixinha as he joined Cruz Azul on loan until the end of the campaign.

But Herrera has spent recent days working with Graeme Murty’s squad in Florida and he got an assist in the win over Atletico Mineiro on Thursday night as he set up Josh Windass for the only goal of the game.

He said: "The team played well, we used a lot of preparation in this little pre-season we have, we trained hard and got an important result for the second part of the tournament there in Scotland.

"A lot of changes: the city, the style of football, the weather, there have been a lot of changes and adaptation, now in this second period of the tournament it's important to keep looking for more minutes in the team, it's one of my main goals.

"The fans are impressive, the best I've seen, it's a passion that overflows for the team and one as a player thanks and hopes to respond.

"One of the dreams is to play in Europe and I'm living it, but for now I do not think about that (return to Liga MX), I signed three years with Rangers and I'm still two and a half years to go.”

THE Rangers players and management met with the loyal Light Blues fans at a meet and greet in Orlando today.

The room was packed with fans of all ages who took the opportunity to meet with the Gers squad at the team hotel after last night’s win against Atletico Mineiro.

'FENIAN BLOOD'
Moment Rangers fans belt out sectarian ‘Billy Boys’ chant in official Florida Cup video as TV presenter unwittingly dances along

The Light Blues are taking part in a friendly tournament in the US. And a group of fans were seen to be singing the banned song in an official video posted on the tournament’s YouTube channel.
THIS is the moment Rangers fans belt out the sectarian “Billy Boys” song in an official Florida Cup video.

And a presenter for the tournament is seen unwittingly dancing along to the chant.
The Light Blues are taking part in the event over in the US.

In a video posted by organisers on their official YouTube channel, the supporters are seen and heard clearly singing the song.
They even chant the line “up to our necks in Fenian blood” while the camera films them.

The song is currently banned under anti-bigotry laws.

And it was outlawed by Rangers in 2006 following a £13,300 fine from UEFA after it was heard during a Champions League clash with Villareal.

X Factor star Wagner apologised in 2015 after he was duped into singing The Billy Boys on a video.
We told you last year how French club Marseille blundered on Twitter after arriving at Ibrox to face the Light Blues by quoting the song.

The French outfit’s official account posted “Hullo hullo” alongside a picture of the stadium just over an hour before the friendly match.

The clip was posted on the Florida Cup’s YouTube channel following Gers’ 1 – 0 win over Atletico Mineiro earlier this week.
Fans have travelled over to see their team take part in the tourney while Scottish football’s top flight takes its winter break.

And fans were being interviewed at the stadium in Florida.

Both Rangers and Florida Cup organisers have been approached for comment.
