trublusince1982 243
McCoist seemed to be insinuating that Alves was fit enough to play. Did Alves take part in the warm up? no he didnt. He said yesterday he was only 90% fit, so agreed with murty to sit out or in other words as we said when pedro quit, Alves will miss the games until january then go, same as pena and herrera the comments were on the back of sutton saying should the best players not play when 90% fit when the game is this important, most agreed Edited December 23, 2017 by trublusince1982
T-1000 174
In his interview Murty seemed to hint that he wanted Alves to be available for the forthcoming games especially the one against Celtic and therefore did not want to risk him aggravating his injury.

It 's scary to think the money that was wasted during the summer on these players.

Playing people on the artifical pitch when not 100 % fit is a risk. Had he done that and Alves aggravated his injuy and would be missing next week, people would get the hatchets out like there is no tomorrow. Murty can't win here. Today's battle was not lost because of missing Alves.
Bearman 9
Alves isn't really that good anyway.

Today's battle was not lost because of missing Alves. Nobody said it did. Comments were pre game and only saying it's surprising to see a new manager happy to play a reserve player at CB in his first game. They were right he should have worried about the game in front of him not ahead.

As a wee bonus can keep watching bates instead of Alves. Wonder how these under u20s did so badly in the youth league when they can provide a backbone that will get second in premier no problem??

The sooner they're gone the better.
RANGERRAB 3,680
Alves isn't really that good anyway. He's past his best. Why do we continually sign players in their thirties? We should be a team mostly with players 25 years old and under all of whom have a resaleable value
