Rangers (Morelos 5) 1 - 3 St Johnstone

Over the course of the season there is no misfortune whatsoever. We are where we deserve to be.

That was my point -- perhaps poorly articulated. There is always an element of misfortune at the time, but it happens too often to us, suggesting we're the cause of it.

I hope those of you thinking even for a moment that Murty would be a worthy permanent manager of our club are hanging your heads in shame. A couple of wins against a shite Aberdeen team don't mask the fact he's proven time and time again how incapable he is. Three games on the trot we've been awful and before the Aberdeen games we had back to back defeats against Hamilton and Dundee. Jesus fucking Christ.

We have neither the board nor the manager capable of taking us any further forward.

Murty has inherited a pile of dross signed by two previous Rangers managers. He didn't sign any of them. Only if he ever gets the job & signs his own players can he be judged.

Guardiola would struggle to do much with this current Rangers squad

With that logic if neither are on the park then neither of them score. That my friend is the very definition of a tautology.

However they were on the park their team worked the chances and the players followed up in numbers into the spaces they created... exactly who it is of their team whom finds themselves in those spots is irrelevant. Its the fact that they had a player anticipating the movement of the ball where ours were static in defence and lethargic mostly everywhere else is what matters to me.

Ahem, nope. They did what we never tried and thus we never had any luck in that respect. We dug our own "grave" in trying to pass our way through a packed defence, again. And again we failed. We never had a packed defence when they attacked, but left them spaces to exploit. Far easier to hit a shot from where both were doing it when by comparison there aren't 6 legs fewer in the way. There is no denying that they didn't deserved their goals and win, BTW. Far from it. Yet, if someone who hasn't scored for the season swings his leg at a shot and it nestles right in the corner beyond Wes' reach ... and another gets a lucky break of the ball and puts the laces through it (and through a number of players scrambling too) and find that bit of open space ... you wonder why they don't do it more often and regularly. Actually, you don't. Hit and hope.

We never really rose to the challenge and essentially had Plan A and no Plan B until Kranjcar came on. Far too late. Second striker and creative midfielder aside, we really do lack anyone these days who tries his shot from the outside of the area. Dorrans did that, as did Forrester and Kranjcar at times. Tavernier has lost nigh all precision with his free kicks and shots, and his passing is closing in on that. He got into motion with 10 mins to go, but was lackadaisical in defence again, not least for their 3rd goal. That will be a long week again.

You can fool some of the opposition all of the time; you can fool all of the opposition some of the time; but you can't fool all of the opposition all of the time.

You can play badly and win some of the time; you can't play badly and win all of the time.

Performing badly ultimately, and inevitably, produces bad results.

The Hibs' result totally flattered us, obscured our pissy performance, and we were happy to accept it, because it was Leithfhilthfc and because its manager is the most nasty, vicious, and repugnant 'personality' in Scottish society, a completely repellent specimen of humanity. That, I am afraid, is flattering ourselves, to deceive ourselves.

We cannot perform against Hamilton, or St Johnstone, nor can we achieve a result against them....at Ibrox. Take the positives out of that.
