Gonzo79 15,294
Would've been better saying nothing. Hopefully Murty can improve his record at the Piggery with a victory this time.

Darthter 542
Would've been better saying nothing. Therein lies the problem with large parts of the support....release a statement & get criticized, say nothing & get criticized - how can the board win??
Franc Ergs 1,657
Just glad that we can now move forward , the whole manager saga was wearing very thin.
pete 2,499
Trust in Murty!! If he knows he will be in charge for another couple of months means, he will have a different approach to everything involved with the first team. Now it was more or less game by game. He can win an Old Firm for Rangers, thats what I am a 100% sure of! Couple of months? The turn of the year is only 23 days. It is 6 difficult games though including Celtic Motherwell and Hibs so they could make or break Mutry. If he wins all 6 is there any way they can demote him?!

I was angry with him when he was doing whatever he was doing with pena and alaves but wins will change my mind.
T-1000 174
Maybe the statement reflects a bit of payback or irritation. DM has had about 5 weeks to say he was not interested in the job. He did not do so and therefore it would be a reasonable assumption of the Rangers board that this implied he would be interested in the job. Subsequently, without holding discussions with the Rangers board he states he wants to stay with Aberdeen. The Rangers board may think that he should have weighed up the possibility of going to Rangers a number of weeks ago and made it clear then he was not interested in the post rather than waiting until after Rangers had approached Aberdeen for permission to speak to him.

I agree. I prefer no statements about the football side of things and minimal statements about the rest. Actions speak louder than words.
the gunslinger 3,366
I don't see much wrong with the statement. Mcinnis has burned his bridges thats his decision.
