Aberdeen Statement - McInnes to stay at Aberdeen

Recommended Posts

The problem with this is we are going down the Everton way of not having a plan B and next choice would know that now. Plan B would need to be a interim manager until end of the season so a new choice could be identified.

I would still like F de Boer long term, its probably an appointment to early as we need a bit of solidity right now but the overall set up and style of Rangers is more like Ajax and would suit FdB. The Palace set up was never right for him and a 2-3 year job to transform them to what they wanted.

Well, the "interim manager" is most likely Plan B and as long as we are in 2nd place and carving out results, Plan A looks less and less pressing. Far from ideal, but after a couple of depressing results, it looks like Murty and JJ have found a plan that works. It won't go unnoticed in the Board room either. Aberdeen, after weeks of speculation finally have our interest on the table and a manager that, after a couple of bad results (and results beforehand weren't great either), looks to be off. They will have to cut their losses and the 800k-in-advance-of-any-talks rubbish is being done just out of spite and to give their hordes something to laugh about. After that, I'd hope we won't give them any sort of money for a very long time.

So let me get this straight... We know that rather than take training of the squad today DM and his assistant have been in a meeting with Aberdeen director Milne. That suggests that a clause to commence negotiations has been met. However Aberdeen have made a public statement saying that they have refused any permission to talk to him?
