The SPFL Radar: Ross McCrorie

Recommended Posts

He reminded me of Der Kaiser.

Caution:...Let the lad have some air.

Jamie Ness played an OF game at Ibrox where he reminded me of Baxter and then..........

What impressed me the most about him (and there were many things that impressed me...) was his vertical passing. We have been missing that for the last two years, at least. His vertical passing, passes which broke beyond the Aberdeen midfield and between the lines of midfield and defence, was excellent. It allowed our attack-minded players to receive the ball on the front foot, facing the opposition goal and had the Aberdeen midfield stranded.

All of that from a centre half  - he really, really does look the part and, as someone said on Twitter, we should play him up front because he has already shown how easy he finds it at the back and midfield :D - maybe he is our "Chuck Norris" - "McCrorie does what he wants, because he can".

Many things to admire in one so young :

1. His passing was excellent, even in the more congested midfield area

2. His tackling is strong, as you would expect for a defender

3. His positional awareness is excellent for someone so young

4. His composure is surprising for a youngster and a defender - never seems uncomfortable with the ball at his feet

5. He is commanding

This lad is an absolute star in the making.

Again, as someone said on Twitter... if he played in green 'n' grey the media would be calling him a 40 million pound player... but as he plays for us there is barely even a mention about him.
