Gonzo79 15,299
Documentary now on the i-player. Whatever you think of Liverpool, Shankly was a truly great manager and by all accounts, a very good bloke. Worth a watch.

Gonzo79 15,299
Is that a rumour? I was under the impression he was one of us but haven't read any direct quotes to verify it.
craig 5,199
Is that a rumour? I was under the impression he was one of us but haven't read any direct quotes to verify it. It is known in Ayrshire to be fact. Shankly’s family were Rangers fans. Their Village is the tiniest village just outside Muirkirk.
Gonzo79 15,299
Sounds about right. My dad told me he was a Bear (and my dad visited his memorial in the village you refer to after a Rangers match a couple of years ago).
craig 5,199
Glenbuck is TINY. And all the Shankly brothers were very able footballers. I’m sure every region has produced great players but asides from shankly we also had, in Ayrshire, big Geordie Young, Eric Caldow... plus Craig Burley and Kris Boyd Obviously that’s without trying as we also had George Burley and Alan Hutton Edited November 16, 2017 by craig
colinstein 294
Glenbuck was built for the mine. I remember in the 80's Yuill and Dodds Strathaven (remember that name) hauling scab coal to Ravenscraig. Streets of Glenbuck were lined sherricking the bastards

Franc Ergs 1,696
Haven't seen the programme yet, but did see the trailer, and i can't believe they had the brass neck to steal a celtic song to help advertise it ! Plagiarism of the very worst kind imo
