On RangersTV and here on the club website supporters can read and watch in-depth one-to-ones with a lot of the club’s greatest stars as they discuss their football careers and years at Ibrox.

 

Today it’s*Bobby Russell’s turn to look back on his terrific ten years at Ibrox after he had*joined the club from Shettleston Juniors in 1977 at the tender age of 20.

Both, Jackie McNamara Snr was a couple of years ahead us at Lochend too, his younger brother James was in our school team, all good players.

 

We have never recovered from doing away with School football.

Indeed, as i recall Rabbie and Jackie both stayed in the square at the bottom of Lochdochart one close apart.

I remember being allowed out to watch the school team play in the cage at Bishy and chanting Rabbie Russell's name, even then he was a stand out player.

Loved the strip, red top with blue trim, blue shorts with red and blue socks.

They did indeed, we used to nip out of Bishop Loch school and get our lunch in James's house. I lived on Lochend Road to, down near Baldragon Road, played in the BB team with Rabbie, always the far superior player than me unfortunately for me lol

I played for the 165B although i think Bobby would have played for the A.
