compo 7,215
Good morning all , I think the 3 million paid to Ashley is the best spend of the past five years , and once again I see a pipsqueek of a reporter running a story about the stewardship of Rangers and Hearts I think the fans of both these fine club's are happy to have their club's back in the hands of people who care .
RANGERRAB 3,740
Am I right to assume that losses would be nearly at the same level as last year, had it not been for the SD/Ashley 3m? That's my understanding of these accounts. But we need more revenue.

Exactly. We've had some hard times but we're on the right path.
ranger_syntax 4,422
How about other revenue streams ? Can't the car park get used for something ? Sits there between games for nothing. How about all the pubs/clubs in and around Ibrox on matchdays? Can't the club acquire 2 or 3 which supporters would use knowing where the money was going? We're not doing a very good job maximising revenue I think that we will be more likely to maximise revenue if we do not buy any local pubs. The car park is an interesting question though. Could it be used for something like a park and ride during the week? Or would we be better off if we could sell it to a property developer? The last option might upset some supporters.

Having it was part of the requirements to build the club deck.
Uilleam 5,960
Agree on the pub issue. Don't think we can sell the carpark. Having it was part of the requirements to build the club deck. If memory serves, it was a Planning Condition for construction of the Club Deck. Having said that, pPlanning Policy has changed significantly in the interim, particularly with respect to car parking for developments. Therefore, it may be possible to negotiate around the original condition. Edited November 4, 2017 by Uilleam
Uilleam 5,960
The Rangers' Observer has a piece, in its 'Views' section, on the a/cs by a Guest Contributor, Ross McAdam. https://www.rangersobserver.com/views/2017/11/5/rifc-accounts-2016-17-overview
the gunslinger 3,366
Be interested to see bluedel take on that article. Looks reasonable enough.
RANGERRAB 3,740
It would be interesting to know how much the Rangers board expect to make from merchandising since the renegotiation of the retail deal.

Yup, that’s what I’d like to know too.
