Barrheadboy 16
There is a discussion at present as to whether or not Hampden should continue to be the National Stadium. The options being rotating venues ,which only becomes a major problem when Rangers and Celtic meet in semi or finals. Anyone at the game today, how was Murrayfield as a venue ,transport, parking, bus parks ,catering ,atmosphere, views of pitch etc. Could it become our National Stadium? Gonzo79 15,299
It's okay. I'd imagine enforced segregation would be very difficult due to the location. It feels like a rugby stadium...
aweebluesoandso 290
I like it, a bit tight round the narrow streets, but so is Hampdump. Ideal for the Scotland games, but anyone thinking the tims wont get the cup finals or a semi-final as we will too, is deluded imo.
RANGERRAB 3,964
So if Scotland play home games at Murrayfield what becomes of Hampden ? Who will use it ???
Gonzo79 15,299
The SFA have it on a lease. I'm not sure if Queens Park own it or not but presume they will continue playing there. Hampden's refurb was a huge wasted opportunity.
the gunslinger 3,366
Yeah it was. Spent millions only to finish up with a rubnish stadium. Too small and miles away from the park.

Many a bulging brown envelope thrust into a few back pockets when that was built. I decided not to go today but I’m sure others will report on Murrayfield’s suitability? Hampden's refurb was a huge wasted opportunity. no chance could Queens Park afford the upkeep of Hampden.....they'll sell it for housing...the land will be worth £millions. I'm sure lesser Hampden was still there when we played our last league game , but that could make the package more valuable and Cathkin's still there 15 mins down the road
RANGERRAB 3,964
Maybe a Glasgow Club with a shaky stadium might need it............
boabie 230
If Murrayfield isn't used, and I don't think for one second the lease on Hampden will get renewed, it will be a licence for the manks to print money. There may be the odd minor match played around Scotland but all finals and all the important national games will be played at the Paedodome.
