Neither of these tackles come anywhere close to what Stokes did above and yet the end result is vastly different. Absolutely staggering isn't it. Beckham gets a red card for this. While Stokes stays on the pitch after this? Everyone including the referee can see that Simone is throwing in a lot of play acting for what was minimal and non injurious contact but it's still retaliation and Beckham has to walk.
