Thomas O'Ware names Rangers player he was impressed by in friendly; also praises Kenny Miller

Glasgow Rangers took on Greenock Morton in a mid-season friendly ahead of the Ibrox side's return to Scottish Premiership action this Friday.

Thomas O'Ware has suggested that he was extremely impressed by the performance of Rangers full-back Declan John during the Gers' mid-season friendly against Morton at the weekend, and also praised the display of Kenny Miller in the 3-3 draw,

Pedro Caixinha's men took on the Scottish Championship side as they continue their preparations before their top flight clash with St Johnstone on Friday night, and there was one notable inclusion in the squad.

Kenny Miller of Rangers celebrates Rangers first goal during the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round match between Rangers and Progres Niederkorn at the Ibrox Stadium on June 29,...

Miller had been exiled from the first-team for their final game before the break, with the Record reporting that he had fallen out with Caixinha, but it appears that the two have moved on from that disagreement with the veteran featuring and then scoring in the contest.

And O'Ware praised the impact that the 37-year-old made during the friendly, and suggested that there appeared to be no problems between player and manager.

“He’s always on the move. He looked very sharp and is deadly in front of goal," he said, as reported by the Record.

“He looked and played like the player we’ve all come to know and respect. He’s actually a horrible player to play against."

"There seemed to be no issues between Miller and his manager or the rest of his Rangers team-mates on Saturday," he added.

While the 24-year-old was impressed by Miller, it was John who O'Ware labelled as the best player on the pitch, and he suggested that the Gers have pulled off an impressive deal bringing him to Ibrox.

“I liked the look of Rangers full-back John," he went on to add.

“He was very quick and nippy going down the channel and did very well. He was the pick of the Rangers players on show. I was very impressed with his performance."

John's form has been incredibly encouraging since he arrived in the summer, and that will leave Caixinha surely wondering whether Lee Wallace does actually come back into the side when he is fully fit as it is surely too difficult to find a reason to drop the Cardiff loanee if he continues to impress.
