Football thug banned for taking pyrotechnic device into Ibrox

Recommended Posts

A DUNFERMLINE fan has been banned from attending games for over a year for taking a pyrotechnic into a stadium.

James Debrou was in Ibrox stadium on August 9 this year where there was around 40,000 fans attending a game.

About 8.15pm, Debrou, of Headwell Road in Dunfermline, was spotted by stewards in the stands attempting to light a pyrotechnic device.

Police officers who were alerted to the 20-year-old made their way towards him when he began gesticulating at them.

Debrou then started travelling through spectators, who were seen to be getting irritated by him.

During this time he was making rude gestures towards the officers and using abusive language.

A group of spectators eventually took hold of Debrou and threw him towards the officers.

After being taken away by police and informed the was under arrest, he continued to be aggressive.

Debrou appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court sentencing after pleading guilty to acting in a way to incite public disorder and being in possession of a pyrotechnic device.

His defence agent told the court the incident was completely out of character and he had let himself down.

Sheriff McCrory ordered him to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work within a period of nine months.

He was also placed on a football banning order for 15 months.

Whatever happened to the clown arrested in the wake of the Hibs game at ibrox? He threatened Lennon on social media, "something has to be done about that sectarian term", followed by a suggestion of shooting. He was lifted in Paisley and was due to appear in the Sheriff Court, but was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital with stomach cramps, last heard he spent four days in the infirmary. He had the most unlikely name, 'Sean Collins Cowan'.

I was wondering if his apprehension had turned out to awkward and inconvenient?
