Gribz 919
The answer to the question is no and the pertinent question is who do we replace him with? You say is too early for this thread question but it isnt too early to be looking to replace him? He has to get the first round of matches before being judged because its a new squad and he has only had 4 competitive matches. Yesterdays result wasnt a reflection on PC. You can argue he should have brought on Rossiter straight away for a like for like replacement to Jack and played out a more defensive game than looking for a win. Hearts, Ross Country and Dundee are our next league outings and more judgement will be obvious after these matches. 9 points is a must though.
pete 2,499
Worrying points are that the Motherwell team that we struggled against last week got pumped 4-1 by St Johnstone. While we can say the Referee changed the game the fact is that Hibs were starting to get the better of us before the sending off. Cardoso and Alves coulden't get near Murray. He ran them ragged.
Tannochsidebear 2,429
Hard to know what to think of this result with regard to the manager's position. What did you think was wrong with the selection today? Windass and Miller should never be anywhere near our starting 11, Nico on bench when he is by far our best player was a huge shock.
Tannochsidebear 2,429
Not sure you can include Pena in that assessment as he has hardly seen playing time. Candeias didn't have a great game today along with Cardoso but a handful of games is hardly the time to make decisions on the quality available to him. That is my point about Pena, he is PC's big money signing and either can't get fit or can't get into this team, either way doesn't look good. Cardoso looked about as solid as Kiernan. Candieas is a level below McKay. Yes it's very early and some players can struggle to adapt and settle so hopefully these players maybe just had another bad day and we will see a lot better from them in future. I can have absolutely nothing but huge doubts about his managerial nous when he continues to select guys like Windass and Miller who continue to be honking and should not be anywhere near our starting line up. How Miller stayed on the park, getting moved about into 3 or 4 different positions when he was shit in all of them, was glaring. Add in another sitter at 1-0 that could have killed the game before the madness started.
Tannochsidebear 2,429
That is now 5 defeats in our last 10 competitive games including 2 OF humiliations, Luxembourg, and home defeats to Dolly and Hibs, both much hated rivals. Redeemed? Eh, no.

I think that Windass has earned his place this season. He was doing well against Whittaker before the sending off. I'd like us to move on from Miller. Kranjčar and Dorrans might be a good partnership in midfield but at the same time he is a bit of a luxury player. Would he be helpful when we are playing with 10 men?

I'd love Pedro to be a success but at this stage he seems all talk.

chilledbear 16
Playing with 2 wingers and 2 attacking fullbacks is not going to win us anything this season.
