Scotsman clarification RE: EBTs

Original article was by well kent Rangers hater Ewing Grahame. Good to see the Scotsman admit what any fair-minded person knows - that RFC's use of such schemes was lawful and in good faith.

"The elements of the transaction, which I discuss below, were all genuine and had legal effect, as the majority of the FTT held.” - Lord Hodge et al

Someone forward this to Tom English please.

I think it's on Page 2 so that's not a bad result.

In any case, it's been shared thousands of times already on social media in less than an hour so the message will spread far and wide.

How many times must Rangers and Rangers supporters administer a sound thrashing to Ewing Grahame?

Sacked from the Herald a dozen years past because of odious behaviour on a returning team flight from Stuttgart after Rangers CL match. I make the Scotsman's correction to be the fourth occasion that a newspaper has had to publish an apology/correction to Rangers because of Bitter Ewing in the intervening years. I believe he is freelance, why any blatt takes his copy reference our club is beyond me.

Because he's guaranteed to punt the obligatory anti-Rangers editorial line..... as you very well know.

Too bad that the damage has been done and hardly anyone will notice some small print hidden in the middle of the paper ...

Totally....Their readers will already have read the original article and formed their "educated & factual" opinions - how many will even see, never mind actually read the retraction???

Someone on this forum proposed that any retraction should be placed on the same page with same size of font as the original statement. That was a great idea I thought. However, even then it will not prevent the obsessed ones believing what they want to.
