Spier's tried to wind up Rangers fans and failed then conjured up the most ludicrous accusation of bigotry ever seen, such was its' lunacy that even Jeanette Findlay came to Stuart McQuarrie's defence (yes really!!!!). What I read from Jeanette Findlasy wasnt aimed as a defense of Stuart but rather someone else talking about "people believing in a being that floats in the sky". He is the man who coined, almost jocularly, a phrase, "displaying a natural denominational antipathy" to explain, excuse, and, yes, condone, a sectarian onslaught on a Scottish referee by rahoops' support, during a match between Dundee Utd and rasellik. The referee was Michael McCurry, a Baptist Minister. In Speirs' world view, a limited and self limiting perspective, there is "religious bigotry" -and religiously based 'thought crimes', I may add- on the one hand, and on the other, "natural denominational antipathy". One is reprehensible, socially constructed, and not tolerable; the other innate, hereditary, congenital, and, thus, to be indulged.
