Derek McInnes to join Sunderland?

Recommended Posts

If Sunderland had any chance of getting Rodgers they wouldn't be after the likes of McInnes.

Poorer clubs obviously would take him but hasnt been linked with any Premier Club.

McInnes is a far inferior manager and they wanted him.

Sunderland did manage to get Moyes didn't they ?

Similar to rogers I.e. a reputation not quite matched by trophies won in English football

I heard today from a youngster [who played against us not too long ago in fact] that various agents were in touch with McInnes to point out that the contracts he has signed with agents to take those as yet unsigned players state that if he leaves the sheep he will have to take them to Sunderland.

Sunderland told him to bolt.

The youngster I know is one of those players now currently waiting to join him at Aberdeen.

The youngster I'm talking about will be joining the sheep shortly.

It would appear that his social media history from a few years ago has hit the sheep supporter message boards - numerous references to huns, zombies and the 66.

I hope the wee bastard gets his leg snapped during the first day of training.

How does that work? How can McInnes commit Sunderland to take players? How can McInnes commit himself to signing players?

I fail to see how McInnes can commit to anything binding.

Agreed - I was struggling to see how that would work, although it seems to be pretty common for some managers to favour particular agencies... Mr Waburton and Frank "The Best In The Business" McPartland spring to mind...

Money changed hands between McInnes and agents. Contracts were written on fag packets ensuring he could have these young players when they were free from their current clubs. The phone calls were reminding him of that.
