Next Sunderland Manager Betting Odds

Recommended Posts

There is going to be a bit of a manager merry go round. With Palace and Sunderland jobs available it will trigger one or two current managers - and I see the Reading or Huddersfield manager being high on the list of clubs whoever doesn't go up. Also someone like Sean Dyche may get offered a bigger job.

Well if that happens presumably the sheep fans will be happy? They all apparently hate him because they somehow think they're shite under him which they are as such but that's not his fault. They conveniently forget/ignore that in the season prior to McInnes taking over which was in our first year out of the SPL they finished 8th.

Not even a top 6 finish with a negative goal difference and just 6 points above St Mirren in the play off spot. And that in a league that didn't even have Rangers in it.

In McInnes first season they went from a finish of 8th to 3rd and won the league cup which was their first trophy in 19 years and in the seasons since then he has delivered a second place finish each year. How shite is that in comparison to 8th.

If McInnes gets the chance he should indeed get out because next season I suspect they're going to get even more of a reality check and second place finishes are likely to become as much a thing of the past as winning titles is and he will be blamed for it.

They could bring in Mourinho and that wouldn't change anything but McInnes will get the blame for their failure to grasp certain realities.

If it was anything other than oddschecker the cynical side would say the Celtic cabal are trying to unsettle him before the cup final.

If he has improved from Bristol days then he would be a good bet but Sunderland need changed from top to bottom, he could end up ruining himself there. However he will at least double his wages and he will be thinking he has taken Aberdeen as far as he can. Two cup finals and 3 second places finishes wont be improved on so you think he will be packing up soon enough.

It's decades since Sunderland were a Bank of England top five club but they are still a good step up from Aberdeen.

They need a good tradesman manager. Allardyce, but I think he's jacked it in now. McInnes might suit. A steppingstone to Ibrox or downwards to Dunfermline.
