Disrespect for the 66

Recommended Posts

Is it just me or is it becoming more and more common that there are horrendous comments made about the 66 poor souls that lost their life at Ibrox? I can't seem to remember much mentioned about this from other fans but in the last few years we have had references scrawled into the team bus, constant sick mentions of it online (in the usual Rangers articles anywhere from the Scotsman to Facebook which becomes strangely overrun with Celtic fan comments) and even loads of graffiti and stickers over the Glasgow.

Am I becoming a more sensitive soul or is it just becoming "the norm" that this is an acceptable form of insult to give us?

I think the popularity of social media just means such insults appear more common than in the past.

They're disgusting but best ignored.

Does their impunity online give them a sense of impunity IRL? I have seen more and more bits of graffiti referring to it. It's horrendous.

Well, the club could write to Aberdeen FC and tell them a few words about songs referring to "dancing on dead people" and "Huns going home" is not welcome at Ibrox and they should tell that their support. If it happens again, the allocation will be cut.

That said, "we" like to tell the Yahoos that one of their adored terrorists is "deid" too ...

the demonisation of the club and its support has now gone on so long unchallenged nothing is taboo now

Yes but in fairness mocking a dead terrorist ain't in the same league as the Ibrox disaster.

The sheep were singing there filth and bile immediately next to the family stand. Kids of all ages could hear the poison that was being directed. References to what has already been discussed in this thread.

The scot squad did nothing and as far as I am aware there has been the usual media cover up.

I am not condoning the reports re singing by the sheep beside the family section and their bile.

Just remember we have the Union Bears beside the family section and the constant sing of "F*** Bobby Sands He's Deid" and other songs with sectarian innuendoes is no nicer for our family section to hear.

so what bright spark thought up the idea of having the family section sandwiched between the away fans and our "ultras"?
