Partick Thistle 1 - 2 Rangers

Recommended Posts

I think the managers ideas are better suited to better players. The only criticism I have of PC just now is that he's changing tactics too much, with players that are just too rubbish to execute them.

The season is a write-off, so I'm glad to see PC giving the youngsters a go. We've been saying it all season: we need a massive clear-out and upgrade in every position; the manager can't do anything about that just now.

I thought Garner was good today. He didn't get much service, but when we did he won everything, both in the air and into feet; and a good finish for the goal.

Another good point Rousseau (you reading my mind today?) I thought with being so direct Garner put himself about and won nearly everything in the air today. Great finish from a great move from Tav then cross from Miller.

A manager or coach should be able to make players play to the best of their ability. This team has went backwards since Pedro came in.

With all due respect, I think your blinkered by your dislike of PC, which I just don't understand considering he's just in the door.

Nonsense to already write a manager off at this stage!, no manager can makes these players play any better!

And, actually, I did a quick calculation and it turns out Pedro's record is better than both Murty and Warburton, so "gone backwards" is a complete fallacy. Murty picked up 1 point-per-game, Warburton 1.7 ppg, but Pedro has picked up 2 ppg.

I have no dislike for him in fact the contrary is true I quite like him. I just don't think he is the person to take us to the next level as I don't think anyone understands his team talks or tactics. Surely your not disagreeing that the team has got worse since he came in? Murty had us playing reasonable football and we gave the tims a good game.

There is a lack of fundamental skills, and a like deficiency of tactical nous.

Both traits contrive to make performances dross.

If PC could enhance their basic abilities (through practice, practice, practice, say) they would still struggle with changing formation, shape, etc, ie with understanding and applying tactics.

If he was able to inculcate the basics of tactical awareness (far less tactical sophistication) the lack of elementary skills would militate against practical application.

Actually, I am. I'll post it again:

People stopped going to Ibrox under Ally because the football was crap. If Pedro keeps this level up then Ibrox will be back down to 30.000
