Rousseau 10,937
Saying they should have called it the Messi show is hardly creaming myself - it is watching an incredible talent do some amazing things with a football. Had it been Ronaldo I would have said the same, regardless of my affinity for Barca and regardless if it was against them. I love to watch football and wonderful players. The colours they wear doesn't matter a great deal, though obviously I am happy when red and blue wins over white. I didn't accuse you of "creaming yourself", actually. That was M. Rousseau, who kens you better than I do. Yes, sorry - poor attempt at a joke, if that... It was a bad day all round. craig 5,199
It's all good Rousseau my friend. Yesterday wasn't a pleasant day to be a Bear - less so if you were pro-Madrid or against Barca.
Gribz 953
The only issue I have with both Barca and Real is the masses of TV cash they get ahead of the rest of the league. If it was shared more fairly then Atletico and Sevilla plus possibly Valencia would make it a far more competitive league. As such Atletico have done wonders for the past few years to make it a 3 horse race but you just feel they could go down a slope anytime especially with moving stadium.

Do Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Athletic Bilbao not have 'Club' as opposed to 'Company' status enshrined by Statute in Spanish Law, allowing them tax advantages not open to their 'competitors'? I am sure I have read this, in a respectable newspaper/journal.

Uilleam 6,028
The 3 clubs, and Osasuna, were allowed, in 1990, to retain their status as 'socios', owned by their members, unlike the other teams, which were obliged by statute, to reconstitute themselves as public limited companies. This extraordinary decision by the govt allowed significant tax advantages to accrue to the 4 'socios'. Murray, Whyte = Amateurs.
