...and I want one too.

Martyn Waghorn insists Kenny Miller deserves a new Rangers deal – and admits he would love to extend his own Ibrox stay.

Veteran striker Miller again underlined his value to the Light Blues with a double in last week’s stunning 3-0 win at Aberdeen.

But new boss Pedro Caixinha is playing it cool with his stars made to sweat over their futures as he continues to assess his squad. Miller’s situation is the most pressing with his deal up in the summer.

But Waghorn said: “I don’t see why Kenny shouldn’t be here next season. He’s still performing, he’s showing no signs of slowing up at this late stage of the season. So he clearly has enough left in the tank.

“He’s been there, he’s done it, he’s played in the biggest games on the biggest stages. He’s a Rangers boy. He knows what is right and what is wrong, he keeps all the younger lads on track.

“We have had a lot of young kids coming through in the last couple of weeks and he has been a right good example for them. He knows what to do, he knows the place inside out, he is great for everyone about it.

“He has performed incredibly throughout the season for his age. He keeps going. I don’t know how he does it, I don’t know where he gets his energy from.

“He has scored goals in big games and has showed on the biggest stage that he can still do it. He has got to be right in there. He is up there for one of our players of the season, definitely.

“He has just shown what a good pro can do. He applies himself right, he works hard, he does everything he needs to do. He is a great example for everyone.”

Waghorn - who rejected the terms on a new contract offer at the start of the season - has just over a year left of his deal but the former Sunderland man, with 15 goals this season, says he is happier than he has ever been and would be keen to pen an extension.

The 27-year-old said: “I am more than happy here. I have enjoyed playing and having a run in the team. So hopefully it is something that can get addressed. I would love to stay. I love this place.

“I am enjoying challenging for trophies. Listen, I have never been so happy at a club. If something comes about, great, if not I am more than happy playing for this club at the minute.

“I have still got 15 months left on it so there is no rush. I am guessing the manager is judging everyone. Everyone is playing for their place in the squad just like me.

“I am trying to do my best. I am trying to stay in the team and do as well as I can for the club. I am really enjoying my football and I am enjoying where the club is going. Hopefully I can be a part of that.”
