The Dons skipper looks to be on his way out of Pittodrie and Rangers are set to make their move - get all the latest transfer news and gossip here.

Rangers are preparing a shock raid on rivals Aberdeen to sign Dons captain Ryan Jack on a pre-contract deal.

The midfielder has yet to commit his future to the Pittodrie club despite his current contract expiring in the summer and Pedro Caixinha is said to be keen on a move for the 25-year-old.

Now Gers, who were linked with the player earlier in the season, look set to make their move before the end of the current campaign, according to the Sun . That's despite the rival clubs being locked in a battle for second place in the Scottish Premiership .

Jack, who was involved in a third minute bust-up with Rangers striker Joe Garner when the sides met at Pittodrie on Sunday, has looked to be on his way out of his hometown club since failing to come to an agreement with Dons chiefs back in January.

It is expected Aberdeen will make at least one more attempt to keep the player especially with Rangers now set to make their move.

Meanwhile, Rangers boss Caixinha has warned Ibrox star Barrie McKay he must prove he's worth an improved contract offer.

The 22-year-old has reportedly turned down the first offer of an extension to his current deal, which expires next year, and is said to be unhappy at the terms.

But Caixinha says the winger must add more to his game.

The point is that we will lose Hyndman, probably Toral and have already lost Barton. No-one knows when Rossiter will be fit. Thus adding some steel (as opposed to Halliday's aluminium) to our central midfield wouldn't go amiss. Not least if it comes on a free.

Perhaps not the calibre we would like, but he is a solid SPFL player and captain of a team that have done fairly well over the last few years; not to mention that taking their captain weakens them. I'd take him as a squad player. It's a pre-contract so it won't cost much.
