CLUB1872 Members Meeting

Recommended Posts

Any update how it went?

It was pretty soul destroying to be honest , JB started in a sort of Chairperson role which soon deteriorated then later he argued against the need for a chairperson , CH gave his life story for about 15 minutes , no shit .

The remaining board just don't get it , it was really pathetic IMHO , club1872 is absolutely rudderless , James Blair actually stated that he got confused and not to quote him on what was said 4 weeks or so ago as he has a bad memory , 20 minutes later he was quoting things from 6 months ago .

They can't adopt anything as it is a 1 member 1 vote and the membership must be consulted , but that's only on issues that suits them , when it comes to fresh elections or votes of confidence in the remaining board members being put to all the members then that was a bad idea .

There were some good speakers , the lady from the Rangers charity was excellent and offered to mediate between the two factions , something I hope happens , Brian Donohoe was his usually Buffon of a self and I was my usual mr angry .

The premise of a Supporters lead shareholding group still holds sway with me, so i won't be cancelling my membership anytime soon. However i am worried that club1872 is losing momentum, it needs galvanized with a leader who can take it forward, someone who want's to lead the support and represent us without fear or favour, not chasing a blazer position within the club.

Apply within.

Sad to say, imo it has already lost ALL momentum. Speak to anyone with our clubs best interests at heart and you'll see that.

From even before its inception it was subject to internal "best-interests" strife, lies, deceit and general all-round shambolity. Nothing has improved since then. The whole thing is falling apart and is serving nothing other than to provide the manks with even more amusement.

Even sadder to say, none of that comes as a surprise to me. The usual suspects put themselves forward - some have Rangers being better as their first priority. Others simply saw another opportunity to benefit themselves. They couldn't agree on the colour of shyte.

The club but more importantly to me, the fans have lost out yet again.

Yet millions are rolling in.

Not for much longer imo. I base that on my friends for whom this has been a subject of discussion more and more recently.

I'll stick with it for the moment but will be thinking about pulling out if they don't get this mess sorted out sharpish.

William cowie , really struggled with this basic question of membership and donations , they are still after 6 months blaming a cross over between RFs data base and the RST data base to get accurate numbers , they believe the number to be approx 8500 , with £1.2 million in the bank of which £161,000 has been earmarked or rather preferences for projects . The figure of £40,000 per month was quoted as income , now given there is the figure of 8500 and some of those are life members , everyone else must be paying near minimum amounts .

It's a clusterf*ck.

We moan about our team and board and yet we as fans cannot get it together.

Put simply, it's coming down to pro-CH vs anti-CH right now. One only has to take at look at Rangers fansites, we've FF largely backing Craig and RM largely against him. There's enough 'tales' told on either side that you don't know what to believe.

I've always trusted D'Art (Ian) as he's stuck to his principles yet I have Craig as a Facebook friend who's also stuck to his principles. I'd hoped the two could find common ground, instead it's come to this.

There's so much spinning from either side together with mates of mates chipping their oars in as well as online mischief-makers, I genuinely don't know who to believe anymore.

I just despair that Rangers fans can't get together on this.

Lucy , as much as I agree in principle , this was very very simple and CH has been let down very badly in the advice given to him by both JB and A W , it was so obvious that he should have recused himself from that meeting , a meeting that he himself admitted he didn't need to attend as two other club1872 were attending , and as Sos of Struth aren't a fans group there was no other reason for him to be there .

This was not a resignation issue , no one other than CH made it out to be a resignation issue , this was about being transparent and being fair on every other club1872 member who had applied for the SLO position , something that CH had every right to apply for 100% no issue with the guy applying for the position but he shouldn't have went to the meeting , he had already been pulled from a club1872 Q&A with Stewart Robertson for the same reason .

He had also been spoken to several times by both JB and AW with regards his conduct and behaviour to the females on club1872s board , as well as the way he talked to Christine Sommerville .

But you are 100% correct that club1872 lacks very basic core principals , something that I brought up at the hustings but that JB was adamant was going to be his first priority , a code of conduct for the directors , but so far nothing , it's pathetic .

As for Alex Wilson , he reminds me of David Somers in his attitude to the members , I've never been to patronised as I was last night , why he's on the board I have no idea he brings nothing to it .

That they can't even agree on the need for a chairperson or for a casting vote speaks volumes IMHO , the sooner we get elections the better and none of the current 4 should stand for re-election .
