Chelsea beat Man City in race to sign Rangers wonderkid Billy Gilmour

Recommended Posts

Just to put this in some context too.....

Seemingly Chelsea are also trying to sign a prodigy from Barcelona - a 13 or 14 yr old kid by the name Xavi Simons (his Dad played pro in the Dutch leagues) - Chelsea seemingly are/were prepared to pay 3 million quid for the lad - at 13 yrs old. Money had made the footballing world go nuts.

He seems to be the one of the jewels in La Masia's crown right now, and looks to be a real talent.

Of course Billy could sign a 3 year contract with Rangers get some first team experience and be worth 50million. 15% transfer bonus is a nice wee sum.

Aint gonna happen,unfortunately.

Billy could fail dramatically and still be set for life, thats the facts.(who could blame him)

And that is why it is so difficult for a young lad to refuse these type of offers.

I have waited years, years, for Rangers to have a wunderkind on the books (the piggery, distressingly, reveals one as often as I open a bottle of beer),

and now that there is one, he is set to sashay off to London or Manchester, without so much as a backward glance.

Bright lights, big city - it will all end in tears.

Billy talks Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has made last-gap plea to wonderkid Billy Gilmour to stay at Ibrox

SunSport understands the Portuguese coach has the youngster he WILL figure prominently in his plans

PEDRO CAIXINHA has made a last-gasp plea to Rangers wonderkid Billy Gilmour to stay at Ibrox.

Gilmour is wanted by Chelsea and other Euro giants.

But SunSport understands Gers boss Caixinha has told the 15-year-old he WILL figure prominently in his plans.

The Portuguese has talked at length to the attacking midfielder, 16 in June.

Chelsea are believed to be frontrunners to sign him, with a lucrative contract to beat off the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and even Barcelona.

Contrary to some reports today NO deal has been done with Chelsea, although Gers fear that could change soon.

The Light Blues refuse to give up on keeping Gilmour, who has been pushing for a first-team debut.

They can’t come close to the potential sums on offer but first Mark Warburton and now Caixinha have argued that Gilmour will have a far better and quicker opportunity to be blooded with Gers.

Caixinha has also ensured Gilmour has been heavily involved with first team training.

Would be better learning the game at Rangers rather than going south to be farmed out like an asset because that's all he will become an asset on a balance sheet to these clubs with more money than sense .
