I spoke to a Hibs fan a few months ago who was at the cup final and was proudly telling us how he and his young son went onto the pitch to celebrate and didn't think anything is wrong with that!, .

I was on the pitch in Aberdeen in 87 when we won the league.

It probably was an offence back then as well. Much of the Gers support went onto the pitch due to exuberance, but we didn't provoke the Aberdeen fans or attack the Aberdeen players. It also wasn't preplanned. Just wanted to enjoy the moment, which the Hibs fans could have done without any problems if they had stayed on their side of the pitch.
