Ibrox Faces Rates Rise - Guess Who Gets a Discount?

So!, Hampden may shut down!, and yet!

SCOTTISH football bosses have come under fire for banking a £110,000 performance bonus last year.

The Sunday Post can reveal the the six-figure windfall was shared by Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) chief executive Neil Doncaster and chairman Ralph Topping.

The pair’s salary costs also jumped from £247,000 to £261,000 and critics last night questioned the payout given the challenges facing Scotland’s national game.

Rates for football grounds are assessed on a range of factors including stadia capacities, average attendances and turnover from other streams of the business, including hospitality.

So...even though they have the largest Stadium, reportedly "highest" attendances & the highest turnover, their rates go down????

Doesn't make sense....

Paranoia on here is as bad as Kerrydale Street allegedly! It does say independent evaluations.

Just like the "independent evaluation" that gave them multiple pieces of for absolutely rock bottom prices - that another independent government branch deemed as ludicrous.

So the independent valueator or valuation company lessened celtics burden and to make it look reasonable also lessened the valuation for some other clubs? Puts up Rangers valuation and does the same for ICT and others just to give it credibility? Nope I don't think so.

Would you honestly be surprised?

Any experts on here know how these things are calculated?

Have you read into the detail of Celtic's land deals? It really does stink to high heavens.

Thats ridiculous. I forgot all about that crazy council tax which should be abolished when an army tank would struggle to get over some of the pot holes on the roads.

A few meaningless friendlies will get arranged to cover the cost. Or they could arrange games against a major country. Hampden has lost a lot of its energy and atmosphere anyway. Its only ever full if Rangers or Celtic are playing in a final or maybe an edinburgh derby. But if Motherwell played St Mirren in the final a 30000 seater would do.

Spain dont need a national stadium they go all around the country.

Ive always liked the thought of seeing some games at Murrayfield.

The problem with Murrayfield is the local vociferous middle class community, which would, quite rightly, force the Licencing Cttee to kibosh the very idea. The Tablecloths and Timberlands urinating into the well kept gardens of a douce Edinburgh suburb is a vision somewhat short of great and sublime beauty.

Anyway, the Plan, quite clearly, is for the SFA, and the other unnecessary administrations, to move into, or near the pigsty, and for the National XI to play, if not all, then the substantial majority of its games @porkheid. There is already a little background music, lauding its "unique" atmosphere (I could agree with that, frankly, but for other reasons) and so forth.
