der Berliner 3,882
Methinks the Portuguese is still at his club for 4 months, who have also offered him a 2m stay-on package. What we do now is essentially not dissimilar to Forest "luring" MW & Co. down to England. I would be surprised if we can "just get" Pedro from the Qatar side. Haven't checked how far they are still involved in the title race or any cup competitions, but getting a manager 4 months before the season ends looks a bit awkward. Hence my remark about assistant managers above, people who can come in straight away. As RObertson said any appointment will be permanent and now, you do wonder whether we tested the waters in Quatar already. rbr 1,270
If it is this Portuguese guy , it is pretty obvious he's been put forward by any prospective D of F . Or at least I would hope that would have been the case .

MacK1950 2,404
Sort of agree as filling post with a foreigner does not sit easily with me.
rbr 1,270
Same sort of inward looking dross that's always trotted out , needs to be a Rangers man. Blah blah blah , disappointed in McCann , he's usually better and more outward looking than that .

der Berliner 3,882
walter thought ally was managerial material enuff said eh No. Not that people will listen though. He was gutted half-way through his first season, drawn and quartered by his superiors at the club thereafter, got rubbish players and played people and tactics that he deemed best. He (or anyone else) could have done things differently, yet, he brought us up to the Championship and had enough - from his bosses, players and probably quite a lot of supporters levelling all sorts of abuse at him 24/7. Right to this day. What might have been under different circumstances is anyone's guess. And that is not exactly a defence of all things McCoist has done, just an angle Walter might have - and one people should take into consideration. As someone who has been his mentor for decades, Walter's opinion will outweight any of the couch warriors that inhabit fanboards.
the gunslinger 3,366
If walter thinks ally did well he knows nothing. Ally had things easier than amy other rangers manager in history and still failed.
