Uilleam 5,948
Pardew likes a punt, then. I seem to recall rumour of a casino connection - Gessler- Lambias-Pardew....... Lambias was a casino employee, pit boss, manager, whatever, in an establishment used by Fatso and Pardew...... Another reason, if true, to say, "Thanks, but no thanks". Uilleam 5,948
The story down here - I heard it from people in London football circles (with quite a bit of detail re cars he was driving and other "big spender, big shot behaviour) as well as media and (therefore) internet gabble - was that The Fat Git had him by the short and curlies over debts: http://www.talk-of-the-tyne.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=17259 Pardew denied all this: http://www.themag.co.uk/2015/04/alan-pardew-responds-to-gambling-debt-rumours-when-at-newcastle/ But as Christine Keeler said (ask you grandparents, youngsters) "Well he would, wouldn't he?" +++ I also note from cwoodloyal on FF, two weeks ago: "I posted on another thread but think it might get lost so giving it a thread of its own.Alan Pardew's agent have (sic) contacted Rangers tonight putting himself forward for the managers job. From 2 cast iron sources." It was Mandy Rice-Davies who said it, under questioning in the Old Bailey. Can you remember Hamish Imlach's song about the girls?
Gribz 850
I quite like Pardew for some reason but not as our manager, and the thought of him as our manager fills me with unease. With West Ham being my English team he was very decent while there but seems to have lost it a bit since then. He cant be any worse than whats going on now but like you say a bit of unease

boabie 230
It was Mandy Rice-Davies who said it, under questioning in the Old Bailey. Can you remember Hamish Imlach's song about the girls? I remember seeing a drag cabaret act back in the mid seventies in Rhyl who's name was Randy Mice Davies.

les186 271
Maybe Pardew can stick the nut on a couple of Celtic players during the next old firm game to even things up a bit:rfc:
forlanssister 3,114
Pardew is such an uninspiring option even without his ties to Ashley and Llambias. If he is anywhere near the top of the list then it's clear the fans ambitions are higher than the Boards. I'd like to think the Board are more progressive than that.
Uilleam 5,948
After 2mins 20secs Well, the lyric is "Half a pound for", and not, as I thought, "Half an hour with". Memory shot, obviously.
