Tynecastle Tickets Statement

Recommended Posts

Not good enough from hertz IMO.

People with invalid tickets shouldn't be able to enter the stadium.

Will RHegan's SFA or Dumbcaster's SPFL investigate this fiasco?

SPFL should investigate, fine Hearts for the obvious breaches and ensure Rangers fans are refunded for tickets and all associated travel costs.

Edinburgh City Council should investigate the obvious breach of license inasmuch as supporters without valid tickets gained entry and associated H&S issues.

I agree mate - all of that is assuming some scumbags didn't make copies of valid tickets. It does happen.

Well, it does seem obvious that if Rangers fans gained entry without valid tickets, then there must have been some counterfeits about or fans otherwise gained entry in some illicit manner. I suppose it is possible that some were admitted to the wrong area but again they shouldn't be in the wrong area and if they were they shouldn't be admitted. So it may well be the case that Rangers fans are equally at fault for their fellows not getting admitted; if so they should be ashamed of themselves. Sadly there are those who will see it as some kind of triumph.

This happened to me and a good few others in Valencia vs Villarreal when the gates were shut with perhaps a hundred or more Rangers fans outside with valid tickets on a trip that cost a deal more than going to Edinburgh. Fortunately on that occasion I was able to alert Jim Hannah and the Assistant British Consul worked the oracle for us; but it was dangerously crowded on the very steep banks inside.

It looks like Hearts didn't have a choice but it will be very interesting to find out if it was counterfeit tickets or just what happened.

Hibs fans locked out at Tynecastle as Hearts ticket farce strikes AGAIN

Supporters of the Easter Road club claimed forged briefs have kept them out of the Scottish Cup clash.

Hibs fans have been locked out of Tynecastle, it has been claimed.

A sizeable section of Hibbys have been denied entry to Hearts’ ground ahead of their William Hill Scottish Cup clash.

It appears to be the latest example of forged tickets preventing away supporters from entering the stadium.

In May last year a group of Celtic fans claimed police refused them access to the match with Hearts because they were late.

A supporter posted a video and insisted they were told the stand capacity had reached its limits and it was for their own safety, but goes on to claim the seats they had tickets for lay empty.

And earlier this month Rangers fans were locked out of the ground – as Hearts again blamed forged tickets for the fiasco.

The Jambos launched an investigation following complaints from their rivals after the 4-1 win and have concluded that the issue came from Gers supporters gaining entry without valid briefs.

A club statement released at the time read: “Following a club investigation, it is now clear to us that a number of people gained entry into the Rangers end without valid tickets and this created the situation where a small number of fans were then unable to gain admittance.

“We apologise to the Rangers fans who found themselves in this very unfortunate situation and we will work closely with Rangers to refund the cost of their match tickets and any associated fees."
