FORMER Celtic ace Anthony Stokes*has dodged jail for headbutting an*Elvis impersonator in a nightclub.

The striker, 28 – now with Blackburn – was handed a two-year suspended sentence and was ordered to pay £25,000 to Anthony Bradley who was attacked by the former Hibs ace.

The 43-year-old was left with chipped teeth and a suspected broken nose following the bust-up with Stokes in Dublin.

He pleaded guilty last November over the incident at the city’s Buck Whaley’s club in June 2013.It came just hours after his country Ireland played a World Cup qualifier.

The plea was entered less than two weeks before a two-day trial was due to take place at Dublin’s Circuit Criminal Court.

Originally from Dublin, Stokes spent six years at Parkhead and also won the Scottish Cup with Hibs last year while on loan.

He won nine caps for Ireland and also counts*Arsenal and Sunderland among his former clubs.

Judge Conal Gibbons previously warned Stokes, listed as living in Glasgow: “I don’t think it is a minor offence.”

The court also heard how Mr Bradley had been*diagnosed with a degenerative spinal condition since the assault, which causes pain across his neck and shoulders.

We told yesterday how Hibs had made a bold move to sign him from Blackburn for a third time.
