Mark Warburton and Rangers bench played part in Scott McDonald's red card

Recommended Posts

Was he not already booked for the program pre-game ?

Either way, I don't think current pro's in the game in Scotland should be in a show about Scottish football - it is a clear conflict of interest

McDonald was pre-booked for Sunday night's Sportscene. It could be argued that it shows a bit of courage on his part to step up to such an exposed platform to plead his case?

However, to pitch up on Monday night's BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound for an hour to explain his and the club's reasons for appeal, is a clear action in dominating the ground. To be allowed to articulate the thought process that Miller was to blame for being where he was, without retort; is an opportunity that the national broadcaster should not be providing. As stated earlier in the thread, BBC Scotland has set another precedent, one they must avail of future red card appealers.

Anyways, it has worked for both McDonald and 'Well, he scored last evening in a 1-2 victory at Ross County.

IMHO, the main point of appealing the card was to make him available for last night. It is these games where they need him most and right on cue, he scored.

As for all the rest of the debate, those with a bit of time on their hands (and nothing better to do), may very well gather this kind of biased reporting as it happens, be it from the DR, the BBC or whomeverelse (now that is a word!). C&P it where possible, add a link to the source and archive it.

It ain't petty squabbling, it is the hard reality that Rangers and its support face a media industry that ain't checked and publishes stuff that is clearly biased. We should not view it with paranoia or the like, but if it comes to the crunch, it would be rather hepful to have the facts handy without spending time to gather them in.

Just to show what they constantly get away with:

Celtic deny Dembele bid

Celtic sources have denied there was a £40million bid from Chelsea for Moussa Dembele, as reported in the striker’s home nation of France.

Dembele travelled to London for a knee scan on transfer deadline day and would later allay the fears of Celtic fans by tweeting to tell them he was not leaving Parkhead. (Evening Times)

- Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has also insisted no offer was made, calling the story “pure speculation”. (Various)

... which is just the tip of the iceberg.
