Guest Bluetooth
This tune is a rousing chorus which is sung at almost every Premiership ground and many SPL grounds with different words. We should re adopt it with the words changed.
Falkirk Jim 0
UEFA would hang us for it, no matter what we changed the words to, im afraid!
Gribz 850
This is what got me. Why are we not allowed to sing the tune but others are?? Surely that has to be looked into. But its obvious neds would use the wrong word but IF and its a massive IF - all the neds didnt use the wrong words then how could they stop us. IMO this song was once a symbol of Rangers - The words Hullo Hullo were used for many things. All we need to do is drop the F word.
Laudbertz 0
There would still be a minority singing the wrong words.... thinking they were the bee's knee's. There is a difference around Ibrox when this song was sung though and id love to hear an altered version of it. But we'd probably get hung out to try by Spiers when he hears one person sing the banned version.
CammyF 8,017
Again, here is where we need the club to take the lead in this. As some have said, this tune is sang at most grounds in Britain (and is it less offensive to be up to your knees in 'Ayr' blood than f*****?). If we get our act together, there should be nothing to stop us from singing a non-offensive version of this 'tune'. However, how long would it be before some fans reverted back to the 'offensive' version? andrew_2010 0
it has always angered me that some fans insist on the 'right' to sing the billy boys. it has NOTHING to do with Rangers! Its a gang song from the first half of last century. why do people have to sing about Billy Fullerton (or even king billy for those unaware of the songs origins) at a Rangers game?! its baffling and like i said makes me really angry.
ian1964 10,720
As Cammy says, if the club had any back bone they would use that as an argument for us, the fact that we're banned from singing it yet others can sing it is discriminating in itself IMO, BUT ONCE AGAIN DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATHE FOR THAT TO HAPPEN

We should re adopt it with the words changed. But we all know that not everyone would sing the new words. That's the problem, as a lot of fans would see it as their right to sing the old words which got us in trouble in the first place. We've shown time and time again that we can't self-police this problem and help ourselves out.

As for the Fullarton thing - thats a red herring promulgated by timothy along with the sectarian bouncy and red tops to the socks. Best ignored.
