... set to be appointed performance director by SFA just as they announce enquiry into child abuse.

A fit and proper person to be out in charge of young people after his appalling racial and misogynistic comments? How can one have confidence in their enquiry now? Terrible timing. Ok he wasnt suspected of you-know what, but he has been shown as having poor judgement. There's a reason why he can't get a job in England.

As I said a few days ago

I read, in today's London Times, that the SFA is "set" to appoint Mr Malky McKay as its National Performance Director, whatever that is, although it involves directing the national coaching strategy and structure from grass roots to the men's and women's national teams.

McKay is the former sellik player, who while managing Cardiff City, sent a series of text messages, tweets, etc, which may be characterised as racist, sexist, homophobic, and anti Semitic.

The FA investigated, and declared that the messages were a private matter, and, thus, of no concern to it. This decision was roundly condemned by Kick it Out, the Jewish Leadership Council, and Women in Football, among others.

It is little wonder that Scottish Football has lost its place at the EPFL, if it is perceived as the kind of organisation which, in 2016, appoints this kind of man to a position of influence.

It seems clear that many in the SFA, an organisation charged with the governance of Scottish Football, writ large, is prepared to appoint a bigot of the first water, provided that that bigot has a connection with, and affection for, sellikfootballclub.

Unbelievable. The guy should never work in football again and clearly wouldn't in England.

Certainly, he could never work in such a "high profile" post in England. Imagine the furore should the FA, in a fit of utter madness, appoint him to a similar post. The press, the media generally, would hit the roof; there would be questions in the House. The appointment would be untenable.

In Scotland, a nasty, small minded bigot, proven as such by his own words, ticks all the boxes for the body responsible for the governance of the game, at all levels, and for all players.

Beyond satire.

The Scottish FA is expected to appoint Malky Mackay as its new performance director on Thursday.

The former Watford, Cardiff City and Wigan boss will succeed Brian McClair who stepped down in July this year after 17 months in the role.

Mackay was the subject of an English FA investigation in 2014 concerning text messages he had sent containing discriminatory language.

The Scot apologised for his actions and stated a desire to return to football.

Equality campaigners Show Racism The Red Card have backed the potential appointment, while SNP MSP Clare Haughey has urged the SFA against the move, arguing it would send out the wrong message.

At the time of McClair's exit, SFA chief executive Stewart Regan said the role "requires a different style of leadership and focus".

The guy sounds like an utter rodent.

On the arrival of South Korean international Kim Bo-Kyung:

'Fkn chinkys. Fk it. There's enough dogs in Cardiff for us all to go around.'

On Phil Smith, football agent:

'Go on, fat Phil. Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers'

On a list of transfer targets:

'Not many white faces amongst that lot but worth considering.'

On a player's female agent:

'I hope she's looking after your needs. I bet you'd love a bounce on her falsies.'

On an official at another club:

'He's a snake, a gay snake. Not to be trusted'

...and sent to members of Cardiff's staff

It really is baffling how they are even considering this guy. Who is making these decisions? Is it a panel or one person?

The mention above is correct; Hugh Dallas was sacked after an email (did he not RECEIVE it!?) which joked about the pope coming. Yes, it was a tasteless joke but sadly based on the facts that the Catholic Church have a pretty nefarious past when considering children. Was it a bigoted joke? Can it be called sectarian if it is based on truth?

Now, they are employing an actual bigot who appears to have problems with non-whites. Baffling.

Never mind the guy spouting racist or any other ist garbage, what qualifies McKay to be a performance director ?

He was so good he was picked 5 times by his country and that was only through desperation as there was nobody else available at the time.

Have the SFA learned nothing from our constantly plummeting status ?
