The Fifth (formerly Semi-Annual) Official Gersnet Dinner

Recommended Posts

He was also very ill in the toilets which had to be cleaned up by the proprietor.

That caused the sound effects to which I was alluding. We were all very forgiving and said we'd "all been there" or words to that effect.

I'm sorry for him having oft been D&D myself. Folk in glass houses etc.....

I understand the view from 'officialdom' too, of course.

Listen BH!, can we lay off the guy please!, he is a decent guy who just likes a bevvy!, obviously sometimes too much!, he is harmless

I didn't raise it Ian.

You might be surprised to learn that in my email to Frankie I mentioned I was concerned that he might be "putting himself in harm's way".

But fair enough, he won't be at this one, end of.

I am pleased to be able to announce that Ally Scott will be our special guest at the The Fifth (formerly Semi-Annual) Official Gersnet Dinner.

Ally was a striker who signed for Rangers from Queens Park in 1973 and went on to score 20 goals in 54 appearances (including at least one vs Celtic) before leaving for Hibs, Morton, Thistle, QoS and East Stirling.

I suspect he might be the only player in Rangers history to hold a 1st class honours degree in Natural Philosophy i.e. Physics.

He is always in the Press Box at Ibrox working part time for a news agency.

I have now reconfirmed with the restaurant so I can confirm that The Fifth (formerly Semi-Annual) Official Gersnet Dinner will be held at La Fiorentina Ristorante, 2 Paisley Rd W, Glasgow G51 1LE, following our last home league match vs Hearts on Saturday the 13th May 2017, 2.30pm for 3.00pm.

There will be a 3-course Italian Menu.

I am pleased to say that I have been able to restrict the price to £17.50 per head.

It would be helpful if folk could pay in one lump sum; but if that causes anyone any difficulty I will be happy to accept a £10 deposit with the balance payable by Saturday 6th of May 2017.

For those who have attended in the past, the bank details remain the same. Newbies please PM me for details. All confirmed payments will be posted here.

Maximum seating is 36; first come first served.

You sure about him scoring 20 goals? What I remember was him not being much of a footballer at all. He did score against them at Ibrox, final score 1-2 I think. Also played and scored in 2-2 Drybrough Cup Final that they won on penalties.

Those penalties, those damn penalties. I still have nightmares over McLean and Parlane's horrific attempts.

Jardine hit the woodwork (bar?) twice within a couple of minutes during the game? Or is my memory fading.
