The Playa Blanca Masters (Lanzarote) Rangers Legends vs English Premier League Select

Recommended Posts

Have been asked by Scott Nisbet to make our members aware of this wee event taking place in Lanzarote early next year. Some cracking players involved for a great cause if you're on the island in two months time!

A host of International Football Players will be coming to Playa Blanca in January to play in a 5-a-side football tournament, also to include local sides.

The event has been arranged and sponsored by The Terrace Bar in Playa Blanca, to raise money for a local childrens' charity, Creciendo Yaiza.

The event will be held at Kiko Land, Princesa Yaiza hotel, on Saturday 21st January 2017 at 11am.

Tickets will also be available for an after party, to be held in the Mojitos function suite at the Princesa Yaiza Hotel, where you can mingle with the players and enjoy an evening of top quality entertainment and live music.

Tickets to both events can be purchased online via the link below, or pop into The Terrace Bar in Playa Blanca for more information.

If any local businesses would like to get involved please contact us.

Nissy runs his soccer school in Playa Blanca and my son has attended it over the past few years. It's great and highly recommended.

The Terrace Bar is also great for watching Rangers. It shows all our games and the Playa Blanca Loyal meet there. Nissy went out his way to ensure my son and I had a good view of the TV for one of the games.

I'll drop a few euros off to him when I'm out next month.

I frequently go to Fuerteventura, and have been over on the ferry/boat(Aramis one is a bit of a bucket) a number of times to Playa Blanca, didn't even know it was there?. I'm away for a week in December, must nip over and find that bar?

It's not that easy to find. Find the roundabout near the front and walk up Ave de Papagayo on the left side of the street. It's about half a mile up the road on your left but up a floor. It's accessed through a set of stairs at the side. there's no direct access from the street.

Edit - however I should say that it's not a Rangers bar. They just show the games and it's where the PB Loyal meet. There's plenty of fans of English teams that go to it as well.

I know where the roundabout is mate, I will make my way from there. I have stayed there a few times with Jean, Pocillos and Playa Blanca, she loved Lanzerote and PB is relaxing, I am away for a week with the family in December so I'm sure we will nip over for the day:hols:

Speaking of football schools....

Kevin Thomson has just opened his own Academy - I am thinking of getting my kid individual sessions with him when he is on mid-term break.

Would be great to see him succeed as I thought he was very good for us, and clearly wanted to be a Ranger

Just a wee bump for this.

Players involved are:

although I believe Johansson has had to pull out due to his appointment as Finland Assistant Manager, but they have John McDonald attending and perhaps some more.

Well done to Nissy and Paul of the Terrace Bar for organising. They are hoping to make it an annual event and perhaps expand it in the future.

PS the Terrace Bar thanks Ian1964 for his (remote) help in getting a stable link for the recent Inverness game following the failure of Rangers TV,
