In uniform, that kid is representing his school. I wouldn't be surprised if the heidie or his guidie are having a word in his ear today. probably a call home to enlist the support of his parents as well.

More likely warm congratulations at Assembly, followed by the day off.

doubt that very much. It might be mentioned at assembly but in the context that pupils from the school are expected to behave politely and responsibly to members of the public.

That would be followed by counselling as this is a safety issue. Not every member of the public would have acted as responsibly as Waghorn

Rangers face competition from Sunderland if they are to move for Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle

DAVID MOYES’ men join the race for Dundalk duo who were recently called up to the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifying squad.

RANGERS face competition from the English Premier League if they are to firm up their interest in Dundalk duo Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle.

Record Sport Online revealed earlier this week the Ibrox club have joined the race for two of Irish football’s hottest properties.

Now it has emerged Sunderland are also keeping tabs on winger Horgan and centre back Boyle, with David Moyes eyeing a January move for the pair.

The Scot has a record in spotting talent across the Irish Sea and signed Seamus Coleman from Sligo when he was Everton manager.

A host of English Championship clubs such as Newcastle have been linked with the pair, who are available on a free in January.

They were called up to the Republic of Ireland’s squad for last weekend’s win over Austria and although neither made it off the bench, they are fast gaining a positive reputation – one that alerted Rangers .

Wideman Horgan, 24, has scored 10 goals for the Europa League competitors this season while centre half Boyle, 19, has also impressed.

Cue a headline: "Horgan (and/or Boyle) SNUBS Rangers and goes to Sunderland!"

Bristol Rovers braced for January battle to keep hold of hot-shot Matty Taylor

The forward has hit 15 goals already for the League One side this term and now Rovers face a fight to keep hold of him in January

Bristol Rovers hot-shot Matty Taylor will spark a January transfer war.

Brighton, Cardiff, Wolves, QPR and Glasgow Rangers have all come in for Taylor who has scored 15 in 22 games this season and a total of 60 goals in the past two and a half seasons.

Taylor is valued in the £1million bracket but has a cut-price clause in his contract which allows him to go on the cheap with Rovers bracing themselves for a battle to keep him.

The 26-year-old signed a new deal last July despite interest from other League One and Championship clubs but Rovers will now struggle to keep him after his prolific form.

The four interested Championship clubs have been watching him regularly and he could be set to go which would be a huge blow to Rovers’ own play-off hopes.

Rovers have already fielded strong enquiries and ex-Bristol City striker Leroy Rosenior has backed him to score regularly in the Championship.

Rosenior said: “It is inevitable that he will become a potential January transfer window target for several clubs. I'm going to stick my neck out and predict he would score in the Championship.”

Only if you mix up Bristol City (wanting Waghorn) and Bristol Rovers (not wanting to lose Taylor) ;)

Then mix in the fact they have allegedly expressed an interest in Waghorn in the first place when they apparently already have a perfectly good striker and also it would appear that regardless of the fact they don't want to lose him they're going to. And what's the most appealing next step for Taylor himself?

Move to one of these other 'League One and Championship clubs' or move to Rangers where he will have the chance of playing in front of 40K+ on a regular basis and the possibility of a crack at Euro football next Summer which if he stays in England the odds are he will never get that opportunity.
