Also Loyal & Blue, what sort of Presbyterian values condones shouting F*** The Pope and such like? As Pete says, irony of irony, such behaviour is very anti-Presbyterian like and not what I'd expect for someone from Presbyterian stock........

No, the best I can come up with is that those 'presbyterians' singing about f-ing the poipe, being up to their knees in 'anyones blood' aren't displaying the values associated with Presbyterianism.

I think too many of our fans mistake LOYALISM for Presbyterianism and Unionism. I have nothing against all 3, but they aren't the same and have many different values and supporters.

Rangers are a football team / club / instituation that was founded on purely sporting grounds and has grown into one of the biggest footballing clubs in the world. Rangers fans come from all walks of life - socialists, conservatives, liberals, protestants, unionist, Scottish 'republicans', catholics, jews but probably mostly from the none of the above......

This 'hand-ringing, pinko-liberal' Rangers fan dreams for the day that the Rangers fans sing Rangers songs for 90 minutes celebrating the historic successes of the team, players, managers etc.

EXACTLY Cammy

All this shite about being given freedom of speech and being able to sing what they like (now I am all for freedom of speech) - but given that Rangers was founded for SPORTING reasons, and sporting reasons alone, can anyone tell me how F-ing the pope, up to the knees etc etc are relevant to the GREAT SPORTING INSTITUTION that is RANGERS ???

These morons are bringing their own agendas to Rangers games - and those agendas have NOTHING to do with our club - yet they are dragging our greact club's name through the shite all in the name of what "they" should be allowed to do by way of freedom of speech !

Utter pish - and it annoys me greatly to see these people tarnishing, and damaging, our club simply because they want their civil rights and freedoms of speech.

As I said, I am all for these things - but there is a time and a place - and at Rangers, or ANY football game for that matter, is neither the time nor the place and is also completely irrelevant to a game of football.

Haven't seen the video, but Rangers need to take RAPID action on this (so we're fucked then, eh? :( ) and identify anyone who can be clearly made out to be singing this part of the song, and BAN THEM FOR LIFE! That way, it would send a clear message to UEFA that we are still doing the right thing, after all i'm sure UEFA didn't expect this issue to go away in a season?

If we do get banned from Europe though, i won't set foot in Ibrox stadium again, my support for the club will be over, as let's face it, the idiots have won, and all we will be left with is people like Loyal and Blue who's posts on this thread have had me shaking my head .... some people just don't get it! :(

i believe we should get rid of the british/english element out of ibrox, flags, banners, tops, songs etc. no doubt i'll get flamed for this. however that's how i feel at this moment in time.

You are 100% SPOT ON! This whole Rule Britannia image of ours (which is forced down on us by the club in my opinion!!) leads to an image of english soccer casuals from over a decade ago ...... what these IDIOTS don't seem to realise is that even the English support has moved on .... if you are trying to empathise with them, then this isn't the way to do it! I walked past people selling BNP rags, etc, on my way to Ibrox at the weekend, and our image ATTRACTS this kind of deadbeat like a shite does flies! Lose this image now, or lose people like me forever

If we don't stop singing certain songs we will be fined, playing behind closed doors, points deducted or even banned from Europe which no one wants. If fans can't stop singing certain songs or stop saying certain phrases/chants at games then this will happen and we will be made an example of IMO. I agree that fans who sing these songs at the games should be banned as they know quite simply they shouldn't sing them. If UEFA hammer the club I will blame these fans as surely they can stop singing them at games?

Sing them wherever else you want if you want but not at the games as this won't go away.

Why should Rangers and the majority of fans be punished because some fans simply can't stop what they have been told is unacceptable by UEFA. I know there are a lot of other issues from other countries but if we continue this we will be punished.

I don't find these songs etc offensive but I do agree it should be stopped from games but as our club and chairman have no spine either, the sooner we get a leader in charge who loves the club and respects the fans and leads the club and fans in the right direction along with supporters groups the better.

I don't give a toss about religion but respect others who do, and I would never hate someone for being different.

I do however hate the scum but this has nothing to do with religion at all.

I for one love the British image of our club, we are British ffs. If flying the union flag upsets people then I'm sorry I just don't understand you at all. Why? People seem to think it's OK to fly the republic of ireland flag in this country but not the union flag very weird!

If getting banned from Europe means you turn your back on the club then that's up to you I but I'm sure the vast majority would NEVER turn their backs on our great team whatever happens!

If you don't like what you see or hear then don't buy into it but don't call people who believe this deadbeats.

Unfortunately we've been through all this before and a large group of fans didn't take any heed then, so they won't take any heed now.

Like I said last time, I'm fed up to the back teeth about this whole nonsense. We can moan all we like about press bias, but they don't even need to try hard, we just keep giving them the negative stories on a plate.

And as for the constant line "what about Celtic's fans and their behaviour?", that's just missing the point completely.

Realistically, what are the chances of us being banned from europe? Is it just rumour or is there a good chance this will happen?

IMO, the chances of getting banned are great,UEFA will hammer us as we've already been fined for the same thing,it maybe we play behind closed doors in europe, butmake no mistake it's only a matter of time before they come down on us hard, i thnik this is the only way we can stop these arseholes doing what they are doing :sigh:

UEFA have confirmed they are "fully aware" of allegations of sectarian chanting by Rangers fans during last week's UEFA Cup trip to Osasuna.

Video footage of supporters apparently singing a sectarian song in the El Sadar stadium after Wednesday's match has been posted on the internet.

Rangers were fined £13,000 by UEFA last May for discriminatory chanting during their Champions League tie against Villarreal and the club now faces an anxious wait to learn if they will face further sanctions from the governing body.

A UEFA spokesman said: "We have been made fully aware of the situation.

"Rangers have some history regarding this and that could be taken into account.

"UEFA are gathering evidence and we are still waiting on reports, such as the security officer's report.

"Once we have all the reports, the disciplinary unit may decide to open an investigation. It is too early to say at the moment."

The security officer's report will also determine whether UEFA investigate Rangers' claims of heavy-handed policing at the match.

Rangers supporters claimed riot police charged into their section for no reason, lashing out with sticks, fists and kicks before, during and after the match in Pamplona.

The Glasgow club have since officially complained to UEFA about the lack of segregation and policing at the match.

The report is expected to arrive at UEFA head-quarters later on Monday.

Looks pretty damning from all thats been read so far, well done to the idiots!
