Time to right a few wrongs - Rangers v Celtic

Recommended Posts

I think we could be almost guaranteed a full house for a return to Europe and I fully expect they would charge at least £40 a ticket given they're willing to charge more than that for an OF game. I'm not assuming a group stage qualification i'm hoping for it and suspecting the chance of it would encourage more investment in the squad than if there were no Euro football on offer.

We're never going to win this league without it while they keep raking it in. It's absolutely essential to catch up with them.

Are they charging over 40 quid for OF games now? Jesus. An earlier poster was pretty spot on - if a neutral was watching that game today they would just think it was two sh*te teams.

we won the first ball in the air, but the second ball was collected by a Celtic player. We gave the ball away too easily in mid field either through stray passes or punts out of defence. we had 2 chances where we should have scored and a couple of other half chances. Tims had 3 or 4 of both.

we were pummelled and survived for the most part. better than last time but tims are way ahead of us.

with our budget we need at least to be second in the league. The game at pittodrie showed we are actually better than Aberdeen even though we lost that one.

King has put in the money so far if it's a spread over 4 or 5 years like he always said.

Arseholes elsewhere ( and I'm not allowed to say where) are blaming him and murray , saying we'd be better off with Ashleyand calling for Warbuton's head.....but that's on a fake Rangers web site

If I remember correctly they charged 50 quid at the piggery.

I'm always a bit wary when it comes to the Europe obsession. Sure, I love European nights as much as the next man, I was there in Manchester and the result felt like a death in the family.

But for all the talk about Europe being the be all and end all, it wasn't so long ago that we sold out Ibrox for a meaningless friendly against Chelsea, and then a few days later only about 25,000 bothered their arse to come back for the CL qualifier v Malmö (or in other words, the most important game of the season).

Back in the days when Euro nights were a taken for granted annual feature and which by the start of next season will be something not seen at Ibrox in 6 years. To my mind that's a sell out money spinner we badly need.

Disgraceful. For all the hype surrounding the OF, it's a Scottish football match. Surely the trade descriptions act could have a field day with that.

We are charging the same on Hogmanay to be fair. £50 is obscene though I agree. Although I and 7k others were happy to pay it. Clubs know they will get the money.

I don't think we closed the gap by much if at all after that. I thought we were rotten. So many negatives from that. We could barely pass the ball. We must've started about 10 of their chances by mediocre passes, especially from Windass who couldn't find a Rangers jersey in the first half (albeit he lacks gametime). I think our whole left hand side needs a rethink, Wallace hasn't kicked a ball for us this season and looks out his depth. The amount of times I saw him pointing towards Gilks for other players to play the ball backwards was incredible. McKay looks completely uninterested and by the look on his face he wasn't overly upset at coming off (unlike Miller). We made Scott Brown look a footballer today as we just aren't aggressive enough in the middle of the park. We take quick freekicks when we need to regroup. We take slow freekicks when we should be countering fast. We had a corner we managed to work back to Gilks. We had a freekick in their half that we managed to work back to Gilks. We had a throw-in level with the 18 yard box in their half that we managed to get back to Gilks.

All in all we were far to scared of Celtic today. A game where someone needed to put themselves about because Celtic weren't great, we made them look great. Mark Warburton gets the rest of the season, hes been good for us but last seasons shine is beginning to disappear. Persisting with LW and BM. Not giving MOH any sort of look in. Celtic played in midweek where they were run ragged, yet they looked like they'd be more ready for extra time.

Overall a very poor day and an indication of how far behind we still are. 2 big games coming up this week. 6 points an absolute MUST

I found it interesting that our manager has spoken many times of not deviating from plan A and our players having to be brave.

Well, today we tried plan B and it wasn't out of bravery.

Essentially, over three months into this season and the manager has no idea of his best team.

PS: Tomorrow, we'll have some questions on the main site vis-a-vis the main tactical decisions we made for this game.
