Hibs thug hammered with four-year football ban after Cup Final riot with Rangers fans

A HIBS lout has been hit with a four-year football banning order as he admitted his part in the Scottish Cup Final pitch invasion disgrace.

John McGeever, 44, ran on to the field towards opposing fans after Hibs won 3-2 with a last minute goal - less than a year after a previous football ban had been lifted.

He admitted recording Rangers supporters on a mobile phone before he was approached by a fan.

There was an “altercation” and McGeever grabbed a scarf from the Rangers supporter.

He was later traced and brought to court, and charged under the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.

He pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court today was handed a £2000 fine and a four year football banning order.
