1. Why no Saltire with flag bearers before KO ?

2. What did the UB banner say that was held up in 13th minute? Something about "....., lodges......home".

You still haven't had answers to any of your questions on here Bearger.

1. You do wonder why the club has dropped the Saltire when we are first and foremost a Scottish team?

2. Ian's link (Willie Vass) shows a pic with the banner "YOUR BADGE CARRIES WEIGHT - STAND TALL AND BE A RANGER" - your query is about a different banner with the words ....lodges....home.

I'd like to know too what exactly it said, just out of curiosity mind.

Are you sure there was no Saltire yesterday? Was there something in its place or only 3 flags brought out? I didn't notice myself as I was still reading a great article in the programme about Thistle being our lodger a century ago so only looked up as the teams were turning round after the coin toss.

The Willie Vass link at the start of this thread shows the banner concerning the marchers in NI being allowed to finish their parade, but I couldn't read it in full such was the poor handwriting on show. Didn't notice that at the game either although I do tend to try to ignore anything that comes from the crèche area of the Broomie.

Just a throw in the air. Would the club not need to get permission to show the saltire. I have no idea what this was about to be honest. Was it a planned show by the club? To show Royal colours you need to get permission as an organisation.

As the teams come out, we have 4 flag bearers that the teams walk through to enter the pitch. One Saltire, one UJ, and two Rangers flags. These flags then go to either end of the ground and get waved when we score. It has been this way for years. The OP seems to have noticed that one of the flags, the Saltire, was missing yesterday.

Thanks Tannoch but one thing that is increasingly being looked at is who actually has the right to fly flags or wear royal emblems. I know an uncle of mine years ago challenged the SFA on the Scotland badge and they had to change it. I am not saying this is the reason as I don't know but I do know it is becoming more of a critical point for people who love to complain.

Honestly can't see any complaints being made regards flying the Saltire at Ibrox?

Maybe someone took it home with them after the QOTS game and forgot to bring it back? ;)3

I am talking about real royalty rights. You cannot always just fly or wear colours\emblem's when you want.

Yesterday was not the first time the Saltire was missing, it was not on show at Motherwell game. Cannot speak for other games, did not take any notice.

In your OP you ask about 'lodges ...home'. Ian posted a link for Willie Vass pics and pic.46 shows you the banner. It says the Ligoniel Lodges are home. In post #3 you talk about an OO march, and in post #6 you talk about an OO march in NI.

Why would you assume that the lodge referred to was not a Masonic lodge or let's say a hunting lodge? That's why I say you knew exactly what lodges the banner was referring to.

As regards to your assertion in post #19 and Craig's assertion in post #20 about the banner being non-religious, I have to cede the point that the lodges are part of the OO and hence should be considered as religious entities.

Semantic loyal.
