RANGERRAB 3,741
Man City seemed to be missing a few players I thought. Had De Bruyne played he'd have destroyed them

JFK-1 1,693
Disappointing. One of the few pleasures a gentleman has left is watching the fhilth being horsed in Europe. You're still going to get that pleasure. Keep in mind they still haven't won a match and they still need to travel to Manchester which will be a whole different scenario as will going to Germany to play Monchengladbach. There still isn't a snowballs chance in hell of them taking a top two spot in this group and if they can't beat Monchengladback at home then there's only one home match left after that and it's Baraca. They're in a tussle with Monchengladbach for third spot and I very much doubt they will find City so defensively unsound in Manchester while City will most definitely score at least as many again.
MacK1950 2,399
To me the Man City boss talked this result as in his interviews seemed very pessimistic. If we had been playing against City I would have played his interviews to squad as they were so defeatist.

der Berliner 3,808
A bit of irony ... Brendan Rodgers: Celtic would be major threat in English League By Chris McLaughlin BBC Sport Brendan Rodgers says he understands why the English Football League has closed the door on any notion of the Scottish champions joining their set up ... The EFL announced last week that no Scottish clubs would be invited into any expanded set up in the future. ... "If you are another club playing in that league or Championship, or League One, would you want that type of threat coming in? I don't think you'd want it and that's the reality. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37512115 Oxford Dictionary: "Threat" A statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action [...] A person or thing likely to cause damage or danger. No wonder the English don't want them. Edited September 30, 2016 by der Berliner
pete 2,499
A bit of irony ... http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37512115 Oxford Dictionary: "Threat" A statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action [...] A person or thing likely to cause damage or danger. No wonder the English don't want them. I am afraid there is nothing wrong in using threat in that context. It would mean a threat to beat them on the football park which would cause psychological football pain. It is just the same if a striker is a goal threat. Another saying is we have got to try and hurt them which means in a football sense and not a physical sense.
the gunslinger 3,366
We would damage them. They would earn less if we finished above them. Rodgers is right here celtc would eventually be huge in England so would we.
