Pittodrie heading for a sell-out as Aberdeen prepare to host Rangers in powderkeg league clash

THE Ibrox club are making their first appearance in the Granite City since securing promotion back to the top flight and there are less than 1,000 tickets left.

PITTODRIE is heading for a Sunday sell-out as Aberdeen have confirmed less than 1,000 tickets remain for the much-anticipated visit of Rangers.

The Ibrox club are making their first appearance at Pittodrie since securing promotion back to the top flight and the first in five years.

Demand for tickets from both supporters has been high for what is always an exciting showdown between the sides.

Aberdeen have also announced that there are no more tickets available for the South Stand as both teams look to grab all three points and get back into the title race after disappointing starts to the campaign.

Rangers have found it difficult in the Granite City over the last decade or so, but the Ibrox side have won on each of their last three visits, with the last meeting coming in October 2011 in a 2-1 Gers win.

You have to go back to November 2009 for the Reds' last victory against the Govan outfit on home soil, a 1-0 victory in season 2009/10.

There are still Aberdeen briefs remaining for tomorrow night's Betfred Cup quarter-final tie against St Johnstone at Pittodrie.

Amazing! In the above dark message to sell tickets Aberdeen are mentioned ONCE! The word RANGERS gets 7 hits...the sheep are keeping up in the 'obsession league' with the rest of Scottish football fans. They like other clubs have missed Rangers more than their own club, a trait in to-days game. We Are Back! We Are The People!

Found it difficult in a decade when 1) We haven't played them for over 4 years. 2) Won on our last 3 trips. 3) haven't lost to them since 2009 (7 years) at Pittodrie not to mention a quarter of a century at Ibrox.

I always feel a lot of this comes down to feelings of inferiority and if we were to base it on comparing records there is a huge imbalance in favour of Rangers and i'm talking even recent records. But if this is the way they want to deal with their inferiority complex so be it. It's irrelevant and will simply make them look all the more ridiculous if we beat them on Sunday which I totally believe we can if the same level of play we have seen in the last two games is again on show.

Even the latest cup result involving Alloa illustrates how impressive our total destruction of Championship toppers QoS was. QoS are unbeaten in their league and full timers unlike Alloa who are in an even lower league and are part timers. When we play to our capabilities I think we're a lot better than many even including some of our own seem to think we are and further we still haven't even seen the best the team can play.
