RANGERRAB 3,680
Between now and the end of the year I think we should go with a central defensive pairing of Wilson & Senderos. Perhaps not great but the best we've got Surely today was the end for Kiernan Edited September 10, 2016 by RANGERRAB

craig 5,199
i thought the player from Raith was a CB? Apparently was dross at CB last week. McCrorie is probably a little too inexperienced to throw him in.
barca72 440
In the first twenty minutes we had no answer to their very high upfield pressure We constantly gave the ball away. This may have contributed to the mid-field looking insipid. On the first goal we were outnumbered in the group lining up for the corner and of course their extra man had a free header (been happening all season). The second goal Kiernan gave the ball away and what was left of the defence couldn't stop a single runner. The third goal, I thought was a touch off-side, killed it. The heads went down and the game was over. They say our squad is worth a little over £2M and theirs is somewhere over £10M, then the added value showed. It was something else though. This team today had very little passion, drive, will to win or desire to fight for one another. There were a few periods where individuals did alright, but an overall team effort was missing. It was noticeable that their best player, especially in the first half, was the one who missed the penalty in the semi-final which clinched that result - Rogic. Maybe he had something to prove. Apart from all the lessons to be learned from this game, maybe the players will learn that if you are going to win you have to want it first. Turning up is not enough.

That simply isn't true - it wasn't a single runner. Dembele had the ball and also had Sinclair alongside him as our defence struggled to get back after such a terrible ball from Kiernan. 3rd goal was onside, fairly comfortably even though it didn't look it. I think Rogic is under-rated. I think he is a very good player. Something seems to be wrong in the dressing room for us - last season our squad would have run through a brick wall for each other - this season there seems to be a lack of drive.
craig 5,199
They played with two wingers which was a very smart tactic as it forced our full backs to be honest and be more defensively minded. That was a large reason as to why we seemed to be hemmed in 1st half. If we look at it in the cold light of day - the 1st half they were superior to us but without creating anything - outside of the 2 goals (one which was gifted and the other was the obligatory awful set-piece defending) they had one shot on goal. Likewise we had one shot on goal outside of the goal we scored. We were very poor 1st half but still in the game. I thought we were on the front foot in the 1st 10-15 minutes 2nd half and if McKay's shot had gone in we could have seen a very different result. A couple of minutes later and it was 3-1 instead of 2-2. Game over. They were definitely better than us today - but I still don't fear them as a team. If we had any semblance of a central defensive pairing (is Weir registered as a player ? ) we wouldn't be so tentative on the ball when playing out from the back.

January1 - we really must explore all options to improve at CB
