Gordon Waddell: Rangers cup final statement laughable and only themselves to blame

Recommended Posts

Remember Bobby Sands he's deid oh shit maybe they didn't know that.!!!!!!!!

And Sands was a convicted terrorist plus the songs about him invariably have a humorous nature and are not aimed at anyone else. Where else would mockery aimed at a dead terrorist be deemed offensive?

An example of jokes about the death of bin leaden from prime time American TV hosts. Exactly the same type of thing aimed at a terrorist but no screams of it being offensive.

"The SEALs recovered an extensive stash of pornography from bin Laden's compound. It's probably not easy just having sex with the same 11 wives all the time. There were interesting titles: 'Debby Does Abbottabad,' 'Deep Goat,' 'Bare Ankles 4,' and '2 Humps, 1 Camel.'" –Jimmy Fallon

"Osama Bin Laden's supporters want to rename the Arabian Sea where his body was dumped Martyr Sea. Really? Martyr Sea? Hiding in your bedroom for six years? How about Chicken of the Sea?" –Jay Leno

"The death of Osama bin Laden has apparently damaged our relationship with al Qaeda. Al Qaeda says we're going to pay for Osama bin Laden's death. I'm pretty sure we did. We even took care of funeral arrangements. Maybe a thank you would be nice." –Jimmy Kimmel

"The news of bin Laden's death interrupted this week's episode of 'Celebrity Apprentice.' Which begs the question, how do we kill bin Laden again next Sunday?" –Conan O'Brien

"The Republicans are so happy about bin Laden they've granted President Obama full citizenship." –David Letterman

Agree what you say about songs re Bobby Sands these are not picked up as are the "Billy Boys" as they don't merit a place in the tabloids.A lot of my posts are tongue in cheeck.

I am trying to point out the anomalies of certain things but at the end of the days songs are sung and the old saying "sticks and stones"comes into my thoughts

"And Sands was a convicted terrorist plus the songs about him invariably have a humorous nature and are not aimed at anyone else." They are bloody tedious though. The only place I ever hear of Bobby Sands is when I am at Rangers games. Why we have to keep his name and memory alive so persistently escapes me.

Following on from everything we have seen since our fradulent administration of 2012, the papers in this country continue with their blame the victims pursuit of our club.

Anyone buying the Record/Mail is positively contributing to our club being demonised, and by these actions I for one will never see these people as true Rangers supporters. Each to their own in a free market, but if buying that paper is higher up your priority list than supporting our club, then you are no friend of Rangers.

An article which completely misses the point of the Rangers statement I think.

Firstly, some of our PR leaves a lot to be desired. It can be a bit scattergun at times. But the club and the fans are absolutely right to highlight that the governing body for Scottish football, the SFA, not only have done nothing about the assaults and threat to the safety of a member club's players and staff, but omit it completely from their charges against Hibs.

If the SFA cannot protect players at their own showcase even and cannot hold those to account to were responsible for assults, they quite simply are not fit for purpose.
